    1) extreme events happen - but the issue is whether there is a relative increase or decrease. More energy = an increase in extreme events = physics.
    2) your second point is debated in serious circles ..

They only have meaning in a given context, and nobody knows how many years' worth of context is required to give them meaning. To say we have two centuries worth of context is absurdly charitable - two to four decades is more like it.
Presumably the same would apply to lows, but I suppose temp swings at night aren't as wide.

Right, you have to consider the physical mechanisms involved, which could even be different at different sites.

Wrong. The surface of Venus has far more available energy than the earth's surface, but seems to be as calm and stable as the bottom of an ocean. The surface of Mars is far colder, with far less available energy, but the storms are extremely violent, with wind velocities exceeding those seen on earth. Higher temperature would accelerate the hydrological cycle, leading to more precipitation (which is a good thing) and cyclone activity, but that's about all we can say about it.
    No, it is not.

You have no clue what you are talking about - that much is clear. Unless the principles of physics have changed - more energy means more motion - by definition. Comparing climate on the Earth to Mars and Venus is beyond nonsensical in the context of the conversation due to major difference in atmospheric constituents.

Your made up claims in relation to Venus are simply false.

    2) the idea that extreme weather related to inherent chaos is not debated is patent nonsense on steroids ... If you had any clue what you were talking about you would know this - but you don't.

Rationalizations won't solve the global warming problem, & your children & grandchildren will pay for your reluctance to accept the overwhelming scientific data.

Interesting post. The only problem is, that it DOESNT change the thinking on Global warming. Much of the world also saw record highs this year, and it has been noted as the warmest your on record for global temps.

It was 80 degrees in the arctic just last week. Thats INSANE.

More to the point, no amount of reasoning will separate the religionist from the central tenet of his faith.
Get real, you're not overwhelmed by data, you're overwhelmed by the propaganda to which your emotionalism has made you subject.

How will you feel if your cold, oblivious attitude toward global warming & the impacts it has on the lives of your children & grandchildren & great-grandchildren, actually come to pass?

The question as posted is incoherent. If you mean to ask how I'll feel if any of the nightmare scenarios become reality, I won't have anything to feel guilty about because, like everyone else, I'll have no way of knowing anything could have been done to stop it.

There is ample evidence out there for anyone willing to listen, that global warming is a threat to human & other life. We can attempt a fix, or we can bury our heads in the sand & ignore the threat until it becomes a reality too big to handle. I choose the first alternative. You sound like you choose the latter. If more people agree with you, we all pay the price of our neglect.

What's insane is blaming climate on man. We are just along for the ride little buddy

Maybe there is, but you know or care about any of it. All you care about is the feeling of moral and intellectual superiority you get from your reverence for the incantations of the pseudoscientific priesthood.
Of course I do, to those who buy into your intellectually bankrupt premise.

Either your not being truthful, or your just grossly mis informed.

Which would it be? There is no other option that I can see here.
