Despite what DeJoy & Trump have said, we know what their little scheme is, and it is illegal.

The changes Dejoy has made are legally required to be put before the Postal Regulatory Commission, to determine if they are just changes, etc, and this was not done, therefore his actions were illegal.

This is yet another example of Trump's authoritarian ploys to stay in power, because he knows he can't win, so he must cheat. It has been established that a few days ago, before he testified to congress, that he met with the president in the oval office.

I've heard the argument that Dejoy is trying to make the Post Office 'profitable' with these reforms. No, this is just a ruse to help the president win the election. The post office is established by the constitution, and it a de jure government entity, and as such, DOES NOT NEED TO MAKE A PROFIT. What is essential for our nation is that the mail is delivered ON TIME. There is no other criterion for management decisions. Dejoy's removing post office blue boxes, firing key management personnel, and decommissioning important sorting machines is illegal, unethical, and subversive.

    https://www.msnbc.com/hallie-jackso...have-to-arrest-postmaster-general-90203205776

Congressman Jim Cooper (D-TN) joins Hallie Jackson as members of Congress look to subpoena Postmaster General Louis DeJoy in order to compel him to testify before them. Cooper says these steps aren't taken lightly, and is willing to wield the full force of the law, including holding DeJoy in contempt and possibly arresting him if does not agree to appear before the committee.

Since when is poor management illegal, unethical or subversive? Just because you do not like what is being done or how the PO is being managed, it does not make it any of those three. The threat of arrest was not made about what is being done as the article's title incorrectly implies....it was made should the PO General not appear before Congress.

Dejoy's management is not 'poor'. It's subversive as the obvious objective is to thwart mail in votes so Trump can claim victory.

There is no way in hell you can convince me that this was not the plan, given what is known about Trump. Recall that Dejoy met with Trump in the oval office prior to his testifying before congress. Trump is the guy who is surrounded by criminals. Bannon was just arrested. Bird's of a feather flock together. Dejoy is invested in companies that compete with the post office, and he is a Trump megadonor who was not approved by congress ( he's an acting PG ) Trump is a criminal and he must be removed from office, and after we his removed , he must be incarcerated for the corrupt criminal he is.

The sorting machines were offensive and we have to destroy that which offends us. Sorting machines were not an issue until your party handed Trump this gift. Enjoy!

Democrats: Threatening to arrest the Postmaster General

At this point, they're not even pretending they're up to anything but the complete destruction of the country.

And for this frankness, I applaud them.

The postmaster should riot, loot and shoot people in the street.

Then he'd have nothing to worry about.

Tampering with the mail IS a federal offense. Although I’m not sure that’s what this rises to.

Yeah....I don't think the Post Office General can be accused of tampering with the mail. After all they are the highest level postal employee.

I am uncomfortable if they were to arrest him, unless something seriously egregious is presented, but I do think his poor performance should force him to resign. Seems Trump once again hired the wrong person for the job.

what crime is this Congeeasman gonna arrest the Postmaster for?

The Post Office task force recommended these changes in 2018 and for the 2020 budget the WH included them at the behest of the Post Office and the Commission because the post office was falling under.

The Post Office started putting them in places back in Feb before anyone realize what would be happening with the chinese virus.

also trump won the absentee ballots in 2016

he was doing what he was tasked with doing saving money for the Post Office who’s been running a 2 billon dollar qtrly deficit and hasn’t been able to pay its bills since 2012

The conspiracy theories never stop. Because of Trump, USPS has 10 billion cash on hand right now. Democrats are pissed because Trump won't sign their 25 billion dollar grant to USPS to support mandated mail in voting.

If mail in votes can be thwarted, we should probably avoid mail in votes.

Deciding where collection boxes should be located, hiring/firing employees, and retiring outdated and/or non-functioning equipment are part of the job description for USPS management. Take care not to fall for every conspiracy theory you see less you leave us with no choice but to change your name to Pepe Silvia.

    Lololol

If the USPS were a private company, it would have gone bankrupt years ago.

The USPS doesn't need Trumps help to run their operation into the ground.

Post office blue boxes have been being removed for years now. There isn't even any where I live anymore. Nor in the next 4 towns closest to us. And hasn't been since before Obama took office. In my town the last blue box we had was taking out in 2008.

Sorting machines are not used in elections. So those decommissions are irrelevant.

And firing personnel is not anything new.

We don't have to convince you of jack squat diddly. It is up to you (or those who think like you) to convince the proper authority that your hypothesis is reasonable enough to investigate, and that the investigation turns up enough smoking guns to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, or whatever the legal standard might be here. Your talking points have only been circulation for a couple of days now, meanwhile the events that you know so strongly to be true that you're incapable of being convinced otherwise has been in the works for years. Another "russia, russia, russia" shot down with a mere weeks to spare.

    So... What's next?
