WHat's particularly egregious as that we are just now talking about one of Trump's great and good friends assassinating and dismembering a member of the press.

His verbal assault on the press may well have given MBS the "license" to do what he did. And Trump's response? He's celebrating an attack on a member of the press by an American elected official

Fox guest says Trump's assertion that assaulting reporters helps Republicans win elections was "just bad timing"

    https://www.mediamatters.org/video/...republicans-win-elections-was-just-bad/221753

NEIL CAVUTO (HOST): You know Amber, I'm wondering what you make, I know it's a different case. Last night when the president was in Montana, he actually heaped praise on Congressman Greg Gianforte, the man who assaulted a journalist and commended the body slam. His timing wasn't exactly good to be reminding folks of this in the middle of the whole Khashoggi thing. What did you think of that?

AMBER SMITH (GUEST): The timing was not great. And in this country, we value the freedom of the press. We value journalists and we know just how dangerous their jobs is. They put themselves in harms way every day to report on some serious --

CAVUTO: You think the president believes that?

SMITH: I think the president does. I think that in these rallies, he is on the campaign trail, he tries to, you know, energize the crowd and unfortunately he said something that was super bad timing with everything that we're seeing out of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. But I do think that the president respects the First Amendment and the freedom of the press. And it just was just worded poorly in my opinion.
    ...................................................................................................................
So............Amber believes "the president respects the First Amendment and the freedom of the press" even though he calls the press the enemy of the people. It's common for Trumpette's to hold diametrically opposed beliefs in their defense of President Dotard.

And again, all you have is personal attack. You refuse to counter known facts.

At least you echo the commands from your central committee. Assault and attack the enemy, the foundational tenets of the New Democratic Party.

When Obama got angry with the press, he falsely accused them of crimes and had the FBI go through their emails and tap their phones.

Ask James Rosen. Ask the AP. :)

I disagree If they made business decision based purely on business decisions, MSNBC, CNN, and CSNBC combined would not have a lower rating than fox news. Since Trump was elected who and what they are has become obvious to anyone with a functioning brain.Everyone of them has either lost or stayed flat in terms of viewership because of it.

The fact that anyone at all is still trying to maintain the notion that they are impartial and are acting only in accordance with what the money dictates has a purely absurdist view of reality.

This looks like an interesting film -- I wonder if it's available for free anywhere?

I do note that it features Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman -- they are not liberals. They are way to the Left of liberals. If you read their books -- like Manufacturing Consent -- you'll see that they believe the media support American corporate capitalism -- which is true. It's just that supporting American corporate capitalism and its foreign policy is not inconsistent with liberalism -- is in fact mainstream liberalism. So I think -- although I haven't seen this film yet -- that they're saying that the Media are not 'hard Socialist/Anarchist Left', which is true. (Chomsky's preferred alternative society is a mystery -- he's always been coy about what he wants to see replace capitalism.)

Trump in front of his ralliy audience is reminiscent of an imposing adult addressing a class of pre-schoolers. "Now listen closely children, the word of the week is MOB." "Can we all say MOB?" "M-O-B" "The wicked Democrats have MOBS of angry people listening to the enemy of the people and threatening us with terrible violence." "So remember, children, use the word MOB every chance you get because MOBS scare people and some people need to be scared." "Now, can we all say MOB?" "Very good, children, you all make me so proud."

Liberal brown shirt mobs are everywhere these days. They have no ability to reason so violence is their only option. Easy to prove too. Try asking opion8d to say one substantive thing in defense of liberalism. See how easy that is.

This is a challenge? First off, why don't you define liberal for me. For me, it's easy. Liberal in politics is a philosophy of inclusion and thoughtful social progress and change. On the broadest sense, liberal democracy is the history of western culture. That is, the philosophy of inclusion and positive, upward progress in a democratic state or republic.

Folks like james m often confuse political liberalism and liberal democracy. Liberal Democracy is a broad historical movement of whole societies and cultures. Liberalism in politics often referred to as "left" as opposed to "right" is a policy of inclusion and social progress often involving government and legal intervention to achieve those goals.

To define liberalism is to defend it. If a person favors inclusion and a doctrine of fairness with some government or legal intervention one is probably a liberal. Conservatism usually opposes government intervention of any kind and follows the practice of individual over inclusion. Conservatism does not embrace change, but favors stability of the tried and true. Recently, the chasm between liberal and conservative has widened considerably.

Personally, I favor inclusion and progress.

Now thats very intelligent!!. So conservative is philosophy of exclusion and thoughtless social progress and change. Its identical to a child saying liberal is good and conservative is bad. See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

inclusion is trivial aspect of political philosophy. You are parroting it now only because liberals think they are scoring political points by accusing conservatives of being exclusionary and racist. Seemingly will back fire in coming elections!!l

Hint: main definition is: conservatives are for freedom and capitalism while liberals are for socialism even after it just killed 120 million!! 200 million dead is their turn back number of dead!!

"We cannot have politicians, especially political leaders, praising acts of violence."

What about Maxine Waters? What about the rest of the Democrat congress? What about all of those Democrat entertainers andcommentators and fake news journalists?

I don't remember seeing you post anything when that ugly redhead, Kathy Whatever, paraded a bloody decapitated Trump head around.

I don't remember seeing you post anything when Steve Scalise was shot and Rand Paul was physically attacked by rabid Democrats?

Trump is this and Trump is that is all that I read in the fake news or hear on TV, yet he is the most effective President we've had since FDR; maybe in history. He throws a few rocks back at the muscrat munchers and all that we get is how terrible Trump is - well, what about you people who try to create a double standard?

If we don't speak out against the murder of THIS media person...we lose protection for ANY media people.

If the free press is stifled..we have no protection against tyranny
