Yes, the one that thieves and murders turns on the second one and wipes it out, leaving only the thieving, murdering society. This essentially describes Islam and Europe. The Europeans have been dependent on Pax Americana for 70 years and have forgotten how to fight.

    I'll split this up.

The point about an infinite being is just a paradox that arises when you try to imagine an infinite being that created everything.

So, the answer to why you investigate is that you want to know the truth right?

Truth isnt the reason. Truth is more or less limited to social matters.

No, that doesn't really work. And we don't need the weird nationalistic stuff that doesn't really fit anywhere.

What happens is that the non-murdering troop is ok with murdering outside of their group or tribe. So, the ones that don't murder each other can now work together to murder what's left of the other group, and only one survives. This is where your xenophobia comes from. Xenophobia is just the most successful strategy in a prehistorical or animalistic context.

It should be pointed out that it isn't a complete ban on murder. There is a game-theoretical equilibrium point. The most successful strategy is to cooperate a large majority of the time (at least within the group) and defect some percentage of the time. Then the laws just codify to try to eliminate some of the defection strategy.

So, you investigate but do not intend to ever gather any information?

Exactly, you are trying to gather information to make a determination about reality right?

I would not say it goes that far, but at least to the extent to recognize whats causing it.

Well, if you recognize what is causing it, you have made some determination about reality right?

Reality determination in the context you are using it can be said of any thought as a result of the sensory input however.

True, but if you see a stone, and wonder if it is hot or cold, you can touch it. So, now you have determined something about reality. You narrowed the possible states of existence down from two. One where there is a hot or cold rock and determined that you are in a world where that rock is cold. Right?

Sure thats the british social (corporate) model. america is governed by a bastardized version of brit law, we have sovereigns, sovereigns have the status of a king, you cant sue the state (a sovereign) without the states permission, not that the original brit version is much better.

The state can make any law it wants, it is not required to be constitutional, using your tax dollars to do it, however if you disagree with that law because it imposes upon your rights, you have the option to fight them in court with your personal dollars and wind up in bankruptcy along the way. What a ****ing deal!

The fearless leaders form our benevolent altruistic kleptocracy run the joint, and the people only when things get bad enough that people are willing to rise up against them with their lives in the balance. Welcome to american 'democracy'. All hail the corporation! :)

So we have left the noise problem and moved on to a rock problem?
    What is 'world'?

It doesn't matter what it is (noise, rock, gravity), it is the same thing. You are trying to narrow down reality from the set of all possible states. World can be this planet, the universe, our perception of existence, the matrix, whatever you want.

Well by the time we are able to do that our perceptions of our environment (world) are already pretty well established. So not from 'all' possible states.

Narrowing down reality was the point of this thread. We discovered that a person cannot 'lack belief' only 'believe' something is true or false, which leads any reasonable person to the conclusion lackers are irrational.

That's not reality, though. In reality, the murder and crime rates in European countries are far lower than they are in the Middle East, but the European countries aren't colonizing the Middle East, the Middle East is invading Europe. So tell me again how a peaceful society is a better strategy than a murderous one. History is essentially the story of the rise of one civilization after another, followed by their destruction by barbarian hordes. What makes a barbarian horde civilized is unbridled success. When they conquer a land and establish a lasting peace, the people then take up the arts of civilized living.

Only you fail the sniff test, as usual. You can't stand anyone telling you the truth.

As for nonsense, what ;you have an exclusive on it? You seem to act like it but then you are a denier of truth.

Right, we have narrowed that world down through other experiments (ie as a child, we see things and taste things and feel things), or by trusting the consensus of others more qualified to make determinations. (ie parents, or the FDA tells us that something is safe to eat. Or an engineer tells us that an airplane is safe to fly in, which we often further verify by flying or eating ourselves)

    Well, we will get there.

Well, which is a more successful society? Europe or the middle east?
Most importantly, the adaptation is internal. There is still murder outside of the tribe or group.

Then we get older and discover that the fda is not our friend and not much more than any other kleptocratic thug, another cog in the monopolistic wheel who instead of honest assessments such as cancer, advise us based upon perpetuating the continuing profits of their kleptocratic monopoly to make lots of money while we lay here and die for them.

Ok, forget about unrelated rants about the fda or government, SOMEhow, you have determined things that are safe to eat and things that aren't.

That's one way to look at it. My version is that capitalism is the only economic system compatible with a free society, and the corporation is the only economic institution we have found that allows for a continuation of the institution past the death of the founder. It's also novel in that it allows for a limitation of the liability of the owners to the amount they put in. These two elements are what make the corporate world so powerful. But the corporations are not invincible. Of the 30 Dow Jones companies in the industrial average 30 years ago, only nine are still in it today. And the great thing is that it isn't a closed club. You can incorporate yourself today if you want.

By the way, the Brits are worse off than we are when it comes to Muslims... London is now unrecognizable as a British city, and has a Muslim mayor, whose first act was to ban the images of women in bikinis on city buses. Creeping Shariah law is a thing.
