And let's not forget Lippmann's notorious "progressive" counterpart from The New York Times...

You accusing me of being a member of Antifa? Wow - that's a new one for me.

Had you troubled yourself to read my posts you would know I support government especially in the matter of health care and infrastructure building. Antifa is anarchist and is opposed to everything I have mentioned on this forum. As for them being racist, that's a new one for me as well. Kindly provide proof they have made racist comments in their protests.

I'm clear on what he said and did - I don't need any "explanations" from you. The Nazis did the same thing to the Jews when they connected them to a scourge that had to be eradicated from society.

Take off your partisan blinkers - it's right in front of your face...

Trump did not actually tell the squad to get out of the country and not come back.
It was not a "love it or leave it" statement.

AOC would have to go back to Yorktown Heights fix things there, and come back to show us how she fixed them to comply with Trump's suggestion.

Not sure there are any serious problems in Yorktown Heights to fix - so ...

I sense it would be more covert at first, like the Brownshirts and the Communists during the Weimar Republic.

That is an ugly inconvenient history for the Left. It is fortunate that many progressives have managed to get over their love affair with Big Bad Government and its apologists, and that is real progress.

The deliberate destruction of a political group is genocide. Reza Aslan has called for genocide. There is nothing subtle or "nuanced" about his call for an act of genocidal mass murder. Why defend him?

    "GENOCIDE:

English Language Learners Definition of genocide
: the deliberate killing of people who belong to a particular racial, political, or cultural group
See the full definition for genocide in the English Language Learners Dictionary
    genocide noun
    geno·cide | \ ˈjen-ə-ˌsīd \

    Medical Definition of genocide
: the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group
    — compare HOMICIDE
    Other Words from genocide
    genocidal \ ˌjen-ə-ˈsīd-ᵊl \ adjective
    genocide noun
    geno·cide | \ ˈje-nə-ˌsīd \

    Legal Definition of genocide
: acts committed with intent to partially or wholly destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group
also : the crime of committing such an act"

The whole premise that the MAGA hat equals a KKK hood is nothing more than lies put forth by progressive as an excuse for them to spew their hate and divisiveness. They figure if they compare it the "KKK", their followers, without questions, will gasp in shock and horror and follow along to eradicate all the big scary racist.

It's a friggin' hat with the president's campaign slogan. Nothing more.

And this should be one of the social media post that should put a person on a watch list for a mass killing. The police should go and search his home for any types of weapons or materials that could be used in a mass killing and confiscate them and then a judge should order him into a mental health counselling program. Of course CNN should immediately fire him.

Isn't that what the left wants to be done to people who might commit such acts based on their postings and statements?

So far we only have a bunch of unruly pinks tying to imitate Brownshirts. I suppose they intended to kill or seriously injure Ngo by hitting him in the back of the head with a chunk of concrete, but even that was very punk compared to the violent show the real Reds and Browns put on in the lead up to 1933.

Agreed, but perhaps these are just the first baby steps. There certainly is a White Nationalist movement desperately seeking armed conflict.

I agree with your take on Antifa, and you are not the only progressive who has condemned them.

    “Why ‘silence’ opposition?

Among those appalled by the increasingly militant force are radicals from the 1960s peace movement.

Political scientist Jo Freeman, part of the radical student movement that forced UC Berkeley to permit political speech five decades ago, said she was dismayed at the effort that went into silencing opposition. She drew similarities between those who threatened her and other freedom marchers in the South in the 1960s, and those who bully the far right now.

“It is not uncommon for societies to produce a hate squad,” Freeman said. “People who want to suppress the right to speak — they are everywhere.””

THE LOS ANGELES TIMES,'Antifa' violence in Berkeley becomes problem for left-wing activist community, Paige St. John and James Queally, 8/29/17.

I actually rather like AOC. It will be interesting to see if there is any change now that her corrupt AA has been kicked to the curb. You gotta have a little hope ... ;-)

Well, there are the Neo-Nazis and the Klan are a constant, but there are not many of them.
The Klan has usually been far more dangerous than the neo-Nazis.

Trump supporters are a rainbow of diversity. Different colors and backgrounds. It took a lot of progressives, Democrats, black Americans and Hispanics to elect Trump.

Using a reasonable person standard most would agree, he was making threats. From a legal standpoint, it would depend on who you talk to and how much they want to peruse the issue. Speaking directly to the FBI, I gave them the incident information via a phone conversation. I may never hear back from them. They jump right to the first amendment as soon as you say the word journalist but will stop talking and listen when they hear key words like Iran, hate, threat, etc. I didn't contact Secret Service but I know several Twitter users that read what I read did contact them and every other agency listed. I'm all for rights the 1st is what it is for good reason but there are limits. He was as much as yelling fire in a crowded theater.

I have actually had some good experiences getting certain things done with the FCC but this type of incident is not their area. You my well have gotten a letter from a legal clerk there who types out form letters all day but terrorist threats or threats against government officials is not what they should be commenting or writing opinions for.

Yes, If CNN had any balls they would suspend this person and aid in any investigations. Hate and terrorism can be political, religious or for any number of reasons. At least one recent mass murder might have been prevented if people, any people and come forward and said something. Law enforcement also needs to be more proactive than they are. Due Process is often the reason they do nothing but probable cause is a reason they can act. It should not be a matter of their prerogative or how overworked they say they are.

Honestly, I think the guy has snapped or is under the influence. It is not natural for a person to risk their job and reputation with the vile language and hate he uses against any and all persons who disagree with him or who he tweets his hate to.
