I could care less about impeachment either way but Romney deserves credit for bucking his party. Romney is now a liberal hero but Tulsi Gabbard bucks her party and she's smeared by liberals as a Russian asset.

I disagree, he gets in the same trouble voting for one as both. Its the split decision that I respect most in both him and Jared Golden. You know there had to be a rationale in their heads that distinguishes these articles beyond politics or favor/disfavor bias about Trump. Clearly they saw one case as persuasive and the other not, and that is a garrantee they thought hard about them both.

I personally would have voted in favor of removal for both, but these are not Siamese twins from a legal or political perspective. Congress ought to think about them separately demanding persuasive proof on the facts, and persuasive proof on the burden under both articles.

In retrospect I changed my position after I listened to his speech on his vote.

The attacks on Romney are going to be brutal. Why? Because in the POT all dissent must be stamped out. 100% fidelity to Trumpery is a prerequisite to maintain standing in what was the GOP. There are already calls to throw Romney out of the cult.

I would like to thank Mr. Romney and Amash for standing up for something they actually believe in, despite the overwhelming political pressures to do the opposite.

I have to point out a rather quaint irony here. Romney more than many, has been called a member of a 'cult' for most of his adult years, but that was based on his choice of house of worship. He has proven never to have been susceptible, today. Whether he stays or goes from this 'cult', is going to be a very personal choice. He's not the first or only republican to have been put in this dilemma. Trump has really caused havec in ideals, values and identity of the GOP brand that will take decades to repair

Not much soul left on the blue side either - they talk a good game but their actions tell a different story.

    Its more than that...

    https://www.buzzfeednews.com/articl...4OTl5JrB-q_2bNcxZoo0bTTJia4jOgiTJiujYVexI0gEY

The Romney Family Trust, which includes Romney's sons, has been a global player in leverage for decades and was also involved in the Burisma deal with Gazprom that sent Koch-Glitsch (Italia) pipeline equipment to Putin for the South Stream pipeline.

The Koch group was the largest contributor to Romney in 2012.

The Ukraine aid package was supposed to help pay off energy debt including money owed to Gazprom. Putin excused some of the debt to hasten the transfer and the money skimmed was routed back to Burisma via Latvia and then on to Cyprus.
It was worth it to Putin because the gas reserves off the Crimean coast under the Black Sea are extensive.

Hunter Biden was only one of many who profited while Joe Biden acted as the firewall.

This is only the short version. I've documented the Koch-Glitsch Italia connection in other threads.

No other prez has ever demanded absolute allegiance and singularity of thought like the Liar-in-Chief has. Either you kiss the ring or you are pushed out and or attacked. It's the reason for all the turnover in the cabinet and senior staff. It's why moderates like Flake and Corker were drummed out. It's why so many Repub congressmen are not seeking re-election. If you question Dear Leader prepare for Don and The Following to shun you. El Duce Don rules with an iron fist..........and his minions love him for it.

Remember when Repubs got all indignant the day Adam Schiff told the Senate: “CBS News reported last night that a Trump confidant said that Republican senators were warned, ‘Vote against the president and your head will be on a pike.’

What the minions are doing to Romney is proof he was right.

This is the clown who doesn't pay his taxes and ties his dog to the roof of his car when he goes on vacation. A man of integrity? Who are you joking?
