not sure if you've checked an atlas lately but the Ukraine is on Russia's border so technically it is a territorial dispute, aka border wars. It happens all the time in Europe since we are so fragmented. Borders change all the time over here. The entire North America was colonized by NATO so you wouldn't really understand this war since you don't have nations on your borders [besides the border with Mexico which is the size of a gnats sphincter]
