Remember when Romney back in 2012 said that Russia was our number one geopolitical foe to which Obama so derisively said that that opinion was so '80's? Or when Obama in 2012 on an open mic telling A Russian that he would be "more flexible" about missile defense after the election? Or how other prominent Democrats like Biden, Hillary said there was nothing to worry about? They did not seem worried then. Or when Obama told Putin to " cut it out" before the elections? I am sure the Russians were so scared. All of this occurred under Obama. It was his responsibility to make sure the election was safe from foreign interference(even though he meddled in Israel's elections to oust Netanyahu), and he failed. But then, his protege Hills was colluding with the Russians to buy fake dirt on Trump in order to make sure that she won the election. After all, she had gotten rid of Bernie, hadn't she? I am sorry, but this is on the Democrats. So if you are so outraged, you should be outraged at your own party for playing fast and loose and cheating. Wake up, people, your party is CORRUPT! The only significant influence in the election was hacking and publishing of private information. Anyone that thinks that those evil memes destroyed Hillary's campaign is an idiot, Hillary did that herself. What amuses me is that this kind of hack job only works on the naive and foolish, its ironic that it worked on DNC leadership. So far, the only actual evidence seen is from VIPS, who evidenced that it was an internal leak, and never traveled over the internet to russia, or anyone. Russia meddled, this we have evidence for, using social media. But it was such a relative few dollars spent, and not like it was some huge operation. And to date, we have never seen any examples of this, and it is doubtful it ever influenced anyone's vote. Would you stop supporting hillary and support trump, from some social media entry? It makes little rational sense, that a few hundred thousand dollars spent by russia could trump the hundreds of millions spent by hillary. I think it is much ado....about Jack Schitt. But right now, the greatest culprit in regards to our elections was what the DNC did to sanders, that russiagate was able to take our attention off of.
I still have a problem with that. Why and even today the DNC refuses to allow the FBI access to their computers ? We are suppose to believe the DNC private firm that they hired to look at their computers ? The GRU and the Chi-Coms just like the CIA can hack into any computer system without leaving a trail. The software used and discovered by this private firm hired by the DNC, was out of date and available on the dark web, and we are to believe that the russian state used an out of date program? One that clearly could be easily connected to them? Is that how high tech intelligence agencies do business? Give me a break! The only people this fooled were people who were idiots or wanted to be fooled. I am not saying russia would never hack and by a third party, get the emails to wilkileaks. I am just saying that there isn't any evidence of that happening.
Long term damage. Other items can either be mitigated or repaired. It’s difficult to repair a system where the opposite party is not just seen as wrong but treasonous enemies of the nation. And both parties currently feel that way about the other.

None of the American people who were indicted during the SS Mueller Gestapo investigation were indicted on collusion with Russia. Manafort's indictments were for crimes that happened between 2006 and 2014 way before he was part of Trump's campaign. Cohen was indicted for personal tax crimes which had nothing to do with Trump. Most all of the other indictments were process crimes that happened during the investigation. Did you know that there was a independent counsel during the Carter, Reagan, GHWB, Clinton, GWB, and Trump Presidency? But here was no independent counsel during the Obama Presidency. Why? Why did Obama get a free pass? If you think that an independent counsel investigating Obama's Presidency would not have made any indictments, then you are just being nothing but silly.
