    Sure.
". . . During a video released on social media on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky brazenly announced his whereabouts and promised, “I’m staying in Kyiv.” Zelensky positioned the camera outside his office window to capture what seemed to be an evening in Kyiv and the Gorodetsky House, which is just across the street from his workplace. Read the article to know about Where is Zelensky Now.
In an eight-minute video, Zelenskyy said that he intends to remain in Kyiv and work with his squad to protect his homeland. “On Bankova Street, to be precise. I’m not going to hide. And I have no fear of anybody or anything. Whatever it takes to win this Patriotic War of ours, we will do it. “He put something in the description that went along with the video. “We’ve all landed on the earth. We are all hard at work. Everyone is exactly where they should be at any given time. I’m now in Kyiv. My support group is here for me. . . ."

Meanwhile, Russian forces have been brought to a standstill.

We are well off topic, so this will be my last in this exchange. Your link above is as much of an anachronism as your original claim about Lewis and the neocons. I suspect that article may be where you got the notion. The neocon vision was simply not part of Lewis's universe.
As for Iran, I think you'll find that your own post largely agrees with me.
And as for the Shah, he represented real forces and would likely have come to power without any foreign intervention. Interestingly, the ayatollahs were fine with the Shah as long as they were getting paid.

I am well read on Iran and thorougly familiar with all the writings you cite. And Bernard Lewis too.

But I agree this all very off topic. Some other time, I will perhaps have the time to take you through the subject. But if you want to read an authority who has some clue at least, let me recommend Professor Roy Mottahedeh's Mantle of the Prophet. You won't find any books on Iran picked as one of the top 75 books written in the 20th century, but this one rightly was by Foreign Affairs. A "remarkable treasure" as the Wall Street Journal called it ...

    And Bandera!
There can’t be a conversation about Ukraine without Bandera! Every aspect of that country and its society has close ties to Bandera! A Ukrainian can only be a rabid pro-Russian, or a neo-Nazi Bandera follower! There is no other option!

It’s their job. This trolling is a staple of Russian foreign policy. It’s sort of interesting to watch in a way. I think a lot of PF members are wise to this.

That was 17 days ago on March 7th. :roflol: Thanks for playing. The video he released two days ago with the Gorodetsky House in the background was a green screen fake.

Why do you care where he is?
As far as Russians are concerned, Zelensky’s location is next to the gates of hell, with a giant trident in his hands that he is using to throw the souls of Russian conscripts into eternal fire.

    Holy cow - there's a name I haven't heard in a LONG time.

Chubais was featured in an article in The Nation back in 1998 when Slick Willy Clinton's pals (including George Soros) had their snouts shoved down in the post-Soviet pig bin and wound up contributing to Vladimir Putin's rise to power and the poisoning of U.S.-Russian relations. To this day I consider it Bill Clinton's greatest foreign policy failure. It's a long sordid story, but it explains a lot about why we are where we are with Russia today:

I've never heard Putin say it, but I get the impression he hates the Clintons' guts, not only for their complicity in plundering Russia in the 90s but also how they marginalized the Kremlin in its historic sphere of influence during the Balkan wars. He has never forgotten that and I know he's been grinding an axe over it (especially with what happened with Kosovo) ever since.

another fairly senior chap gone....died.....with the resignations and arrests and disappearances its back to the old Soviet days of having to make sure the terminology is correct.. so Russian Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Sharshavov, Commander of VDV 171st Separate Air Assault Battalion (Fredosia), 7th Guards Mountain Air Assault Division has died "of Ukraine"
