KREMENCHUK, Ukraine (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday that Russia “cannot and should not win” the war in Ukraine, a day after a Russian missile attack on a crowded shopping mall that killed 18 put the conflict’s terrible toll on full view.

Ukrainian and Western leaders have denounced the strike as a war crime and a terrorist attack and it drew swift condemnation from the Group of Seven leaders meeting in Europe at the time. It came during an unusually intense barrage of Russian strikes all across Ukraine, including in the capital of Kyiv, that drew new attention to a war that some fear could fade from the headlines as it drags on.

Speaking at the end of the G-7 summit in Germany, Macron appeared to address that concern, vowing that the seven industrialized democracies would support Ukraine and maintain sanctions against Russia “as long as necessary, and with the necessary intensity.”. . . .

Local Ukrainian mayor explains casualties at shopping mall
A shopping center in the city of Kremenchug, where 18 were reported killed on Monday, failed to shut down after a warning

A Ukrainian shopping mall, where 18 people were reported killed on Monday after a Russian air strike, ignored a warning of an imminent air attack, the mayor of Kremenchug reported on Tuesday.

“Ukraine is at war, so ignoring an air raid alert is a crime, which the tragedy in Amstor demonstrated once again,” Vitaly Maletsky wrote on social media. He threatened public venues with criminal prosecution if they fail to evacuate patrons and employees when a warning is given by the authorities.

    snip

On Tuesday, Moscow confirmed attacking the city, but denied targeting the shopping venue. The strike hit a nearby plant where West-supplied munitions were stored before being shipped to the frontline, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed. Detonations of the ammo caused damage to the shopping center, the report claimed.

Sometimes war turns into a comedy show. For example, the missile that hit a civilian building in Kiev. The Ukrainian army attempted to intercept Russian advanced missiles with their air defense system stationed in the city. Ukrainian launched more than 10 S-300 and Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missiles.

Due to poor communication between different Ukrainian units located in urban areas, two S-300 anti-aircraft missiles were actually shot down by the Ukrainian Buks. Comedy. Unfortunately, one of those Ukrainian missiles, which they shot down themselves, fell on the roof of the civilian building and killed few people. Tragedy.

G7 Concludes Summit with Commitment on Russia and China. G7 leaders concluded their summit in the German Alps by committing to supporting Ukraine for ‘as long as it takes’ and saying they are committed to imposing ‘“severe and immediate economic costs” on Russia, according to media reports. Follow-on discussions are expected to explore details on how to import a cap on prices on Russian oil in the latest attempt to limit Moscow’s ability to finance its war in Ukraine with global oil sales. G7 leaders also agreed to maintain focus on the challenges posed by Beijing according to the text of a communique that was released which condemned China for its economic practices and human rights record. Russian Missile Hit Ukrainian Shopping Mall, Killing 18. Two Russian missiles hit a busy shopping mall in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk on Tuesday, killing at least 18 people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said over 1,000 people were inside the mall during the attack, which he called a “calculated” strike launched by “totally insane terrorists.” G7 leaders condemned the strike and diplomats say the UN Security Council will convene to discuss the attack. Russia’s deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, said the attack was a “Ukrainian provocation” and that Kyiv is using it to gain sympathy at this week’s NATO summit. The Russian way of war -- targeting civilians.
Russian Shelling Kills Five in Kharkiv. Russian shelling against the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv killed five people and injured 22 on Monday, according to the regional governor. The airstrikes hit apartment buildings and a primary school and injured five children. Russia did not comment on the attack and continues to deny it targets civilians. Reuters

    Turkey is a NATO country.
Turkey’s Bakyar Donating Three Drones to Ukraine. Turkish defense firm Baykar announced Monday it is donating three unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukraine after a crowdfunding campaign raised funds for TB2 drones. Baykar added that it will not accept payment for the drones and asked that raised funds be donated as humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The TB2 has been useful in Ukraine against Russian artillery and armored vehicles. Moscow has expressed anger at Baykar’s arming of Ukraine, but Turkey maintains the company’s drone sales and transfers are not state-to-state deals between Ankara and Kyiv. Reuters

This outrage of the day has already been debunked. It never did pass even a cursory sniff test, but now video and Google maps show what actually happened.

Yeah, I saw that video. If that blast was directed at that mall, it would no longer exist. Instead, we saw a fire that was attended by one fire truck, some military guys and a few shirtless guys milling about. Where were the ambulances? How about pictures of the "victims"?

Why so few cars in the parking lot? With that many dead and injured, a lot of cars would have been left on the scene by their now dead or injured owners.

Face it, the evidence just doesn't match the narrative.

So you won't answer any of my rather obvious questions. No surprise there.

In this satellite view, you can see the shopping center, the park from which the video you referenced was taken (by security cameras) and the actual target of the Russian missiles in between the park and shopping center.
