The world's media is leftist and hostile to the U.S. because we're the last holdout against socialism. We're the last obstacle to their holy grail ... one world government. So of course the world has a negative view of the U.S.

Here's the deal ... if you are in a country that acts responsibly (Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, etc.), you have nothing to fear. But if you threaten or act against the U.S. (or it's allies) there will be a response.

We had to fight three world wars in the last century because other nations keep spewing out evil ideologies. To avoid another world war, we're willing to nip these problems in the bud. We're tired of fighting and dying because the rest of the world can't behave.

That is ridiculous. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Iran, Irak, Cuba, Nicaragua, and many dozens more. All of them illegally ravaged by the US. You have a lot of reading to do if you want to discuss this subject.

If I had been Uncle Ho, I would have found a way to assassinate Johnson in 1965.

Yes, and then maybe I would not have had to go the following year. Maybe Ho Chi was hoping that the American people would eventually come to their senses and do it themselves.

North Vietnam attacked our ally, South Vietnam. Just like North Korea attacked our ally South Korea in 1950.

We never attacked Cambodia or Laos, but we should have done that since they were allowing the North Vietnamese to use their countries as bases to attack Americans.

Iraq invaded our ally (Kuwait) and it was financing terrorism against another ally (Israel).

Castro told us he was a democrat until he took power when he turned communist. Then he allowed Russian nuclear missiles (aimed at the U.S.) to be built 90 miles from Florida. Yes, we had a problem with that.

Nicaragua was communist expansion on the North American continent, threatening to spread it throughout the region.

Wake up, man. Stop believing that anti-American crap.

You mean russia tried to influence our election by spending a couple hundred grand? Pardon me while I roll on the floor and laugh my arse off. Assange has offered to prove russia was not his source, with a deal, but then you might find out the truth, and we cannot have that! So continue to suck up the lies like a hog at a slop bucket.

I am very sorry to tell you this but you have not the slightest knowledge on the subject. It would have been nice if you had lucky-guessed one thing correct. Too bad.

Don't confuse with facts. The response beginning with North Vietnam attacking her "ally" ............. never having invaded Cambodia or Laos .......... Russia initiating missiles directed at the US while ignoring the fact that it was American missiles aimed at Soviet cities first ...................... and the BS about Nicaraguan Communism expansion of North America - how much truth and fact do you think such crazy notions can absorb?

Well here's the thing...Bob...true, Nato was to cease, but those respective countries voted on and ratified Nato membership, thus extending it, I guess living in a socialist bunghole ideology for almost 5 decades was enough, and traded it for stability and prosperity. The russkis have only themselves to blame on this one,;))).

has nothing to do with Nato but these having entered the world market. Russia's not in Nato but is stable and thriving, same about China.

Notice also that South Vietnam was no one's "ally". The US was decreed to assist with the scheduled Democratic elections. Instead, the US prevented the elections from taking place and started a war against both Hanoi (in the north) and the NLF (in the south). She conveniently ignored the WMD scam in Irak entirely. She didn't mention the American Bastista puppet in Cuba, the blockade that resulted in Cuba being compelled to accept Soviet support although they really didn't want it, the Ameican missiles positioned in Turkey threatening highly populated Soviet cities, resulting in Soviet missiles being placed in Cuba. Not a word about CIA "Operation TP Ajax" that destroyed Iran's Democratic government. The American invasion of Cambodia and Laos that she denies having taken place. Etc. Etc. Etc.

This despite American led sanctions against them. I think it is fair to say that the US has had most of the world by the balls because of the dollar being used in the trade in oil. The false security it provides, however, has allowed the US to corrupt its monopoly beyond its own resources. In other words, the US is prospering on nothing but thin air ...... drop the dollar as oil currency and the US will not be able to pay its debt ..... CRASH! Nations like Iran, Irak, China, Russian, and (I am told) even Saudi Arabia have had enough and are all working towards dropping the dollar. That is (in case you don't already know it) the main reason why the US lied about WMD's and illegally invaded Irak. Saddam had already set the wheels into motion to remove the petro-dollar.

You want to know my personal recommendation? What good would that do? I am not an economist. Look it up. You don't need a secret decoder ring to find the answer to your question. Ask Vladmir Putin, the Ayatollah, and Kim Il whats-his-name. You could ask Saddam Hussein or Gaddifi but you murdered both of them.

Yes, I have paid attention to our own aggression. Trouble is, many americans choose to ignore it or justify it. Some americans IMO must get off on being a super power empire and want it to act like an empire. But we are wrong in playing the role of an empire. That does not mean you withdraw from the world, but it does mean we put an end to aggression. And go back to just defending ourselves from attacks. As the Founders would have wanted.

We seem to be very concerned about Russia. Some of us think Putin wants to take back the states that once was a part of the USSR. But if you pay attention to russia's actions it would be hard to logically think this is going on. Russia does have regional concerns, just like we have regional concerns. Yet so many of us think that only the US has concerns, in regards to our economy, our defense, and whether or not we get a rogue state south of our borders, and yet russia is evil if they also have their national interests.

So far me, when russia begins to act irrational, irresponsible, and aggressive towards her neighbors, I will change my impression and opinion of russia and Putin. But there is no way in hell I can buy what some americans are trying to sell as a perception of russia. These people are just limting themselves to the official story and MSM narrative in regards to russia and Putin. He is very popular in russia and he exhibits the russian personality very well, IMO. From what I can tell, russia is a much more conservative society than ours. They would be closer to our 1950s society, and I happen to like that society I grew up in. They are not a part of the sovereignty robbing western elite driven globalism, in fact are against it, and this is russia's greatest sin. It is untenable to the West, us included. And so russia and putin are demonized, for you must demonize you enemy so it stays an enemy.

There are rich special interests backed up by the neocons, who are in the process of carrying out the Project for a New American Century, in foreign policy who want a new cold war with russia. It would grow the military and 3 letter agencies like the CIA and NSA. It would be profitable for the 6 big defense contractors, and the top people that own them. Fattens up their stock. And terrorism just isn't big enough to warrant the spending. We need an evil Darth Vader enemy. And if we don't really have one, by god we will create one. Gen, Smedley Butler the most decorated Marine officer ever, laid out the schemes in War is a Racket. But those Americans who want russia as a great evil enemy would never educated themselves of what drives war, whether hot or cold. They would never read what Gen. Butler revealed. And BTW this is the patriotic general who busted out the coup against FDR. A coup orchestrated by a group of very rich men, none of who ever got charged for anything. Too big to jail. Like today with our wall street bankers.

Unlike my anti evil russian posters, I require hard evidence in order to create an opinion And the evidence would never allow me to have the stance on russia that we see coming from some of the hawks. For the evidence does not back up their beliefs. It just doesn't.

I could not care less about russia. I know it is said that Putin acts like an old KGB agent, and like our own CIA kills some of our perceived enemies. Hussein, Gadafi, and a couple south american politicians or rebels. To hold that against Putin while not seeing my own nation has done it, is simple, self evident hypocrisy. As it requires hard evidence to back up an appraisel, I am required as a thinking being, to try hard never to indulge in hypocrisy, for this is just a kind of sophisticate lie. I also strive very hard not to lie. And keeping my word is of prime importance. But this is my 1950's social conditioning, which took very well. Yet I am very aware of this conditioning, and I think it is the right conditioning. So, one requires evidence, and any opinion which ignores evidence is just absurdity, and it can be a very dangerous absurdity ,which is the case here with opinions and beliefs about an evil Darth Vader Russia. And the desire to hurt her in any way possible. The sanctions we applied or forced others to apply, is economic warfare. Our economic warfare against Japan had something to do with them declaring war on us. So economic warfare was once perceived as war, one nation being attacked, and it should be that way today, yet we have forget or ignored that economic sanctions is warfare. But now it is fine for the US to do it. Looks like an evil empire to me, much more than russia is. This is an objective observation based upon historical fact. But it will really piss off some folks. I will be called comrade, or Putin's boy, or his puppet. But I have to call em and I see em. And the evidence is on my side. But of course you gotta look and stop assuming and get more than just one news source. Then, use you brain for a change. I just heard a physicist say, last night, that america's later generations because of the culture were no longer thinking deeply about anything. The culture is destroying this cognitive function. And high tech is a part of this culture. He was saying this in regards to physics students, and how the lack of deep prolonged thinking is hurting physics and new discoveries. He said it required prolonged deep thinking on problems in order to solve them or come up with a new view to approach an old problem. And americans seem to have stopped such thinking. I agree and I think it shows up in a subject like russia. I notice it. I am sure a few others here notice it too. But only a few and that is the problem IMO

I don't agree with those interests. I am not in favor of removing assad, nor what we did in Libya or Iraq. We should have more nations against our aggression and killing. In syria, russia is there because they were asked to come in and help take out the people waging war on syria. We are there, meddling in trying to remove another ruler and destablize another nation. And those are evil interests. And not in the interest of the american people at large. As an american I have the right to be against this aggression and madness, and any american who knows the facts are on my side. Not all of us want our nation to act like some evil empire and being aggressive when it has nothing to do with national defense. In fact our actions in the middle east only creates more enemies for us. Which is probably the real reason we stay there. We must want more enemies or we would behave differently. And this is the only thing that would explain what we have done in the middle east, creating war and helping to create war. In some of our books, this is practically satanic in nature. Perpetual war for perpetual peace is by definition, evil. But the good germans acted just as we act. Too many people are just too damned easy to manipulate mentally, too easy to manufacture consent. And with these kind of people, any contrary voice to the official story just has to be lying propaganda, so no need to listen to it. But the germans did the same thing. Just not enough objective critical minds around. Which means humanity is screwed. Just a matter of time before the mental hospital patients burn down their hospital. We live in a Cuckoos Nest.

I agree with everything you say except this one little thing .....

Americans are deliberately "dumbed down". The US has a dreadfully inferior educational curriculum. I am willing to bet (without hesitation) that is the very worst education in all of the western nations. It consists of political propaganda "for dummies". There are very few Americans who understand political philosophies. This is intentional. It spoonfeeds Americans simple, short-cut cliches and does not encourage further reading. So if you say, "America is the best country in the world" Americans are familiar with that expression and believe it ... because it is simple and it has been pounded into their heads. They go through life with simple crib notes written on the inner sleeve of their shirt. "America = Good ... Russia = Bad" "Capitalism = Democracy ... Socialism = Gulag". Ask the average American what Socialism or Communism is all about. Go ahead ask him. All you'll get in response is some gobbledigook propaganda which is more than likely quotes from Joe McCarthy jazzed up-to-date with catch-phrases like "Basically" "You know" "Ahhh" "This point in time" and "Duh". And if you try to engage them in a serious discussion/debate on the subject they'll quickly revert fo things like "Hiter did this" and "Stalin did that" and if you push him hard enough he'll finally say "Take my word for it, Socialism is evil". That's it. No understanding. No nitty gritty banter on the pros and cons and what they mean.

So. I disagree with you about Americans "choosing to ignore" reality and the world it lives in. They just haven't got enough knowledge to understand it. To them, the subject is "too complicated" outside of the cliches of propaganda they been taught to cling to.

I do not think they are dumbed down except in public school. Unless a University education has changed since I attended long ago. So I agree with the physics prof who said these later generations have not been cultivated to think deeply about much of anything. And he sees it in the physics classes he teaches, and sees a degradation of this kind of thinking. So there is a shallowness and a willingness to listen to one side of an issue or story, never seeking out counter opinion or facts which are not favorable to the official story MSM gives us.

But you are right in the fact that most americans have just been taught, socialism evil, capitalism good. You would learn the fine details only if you took a course in the various ideologies and systems. We have also been conditioned with the idea that democracy is good, dictatorship bad. Which I would agree with of course, without being conditioned to believe this. But I question everything, and we were actually taught to do that once upon a time, or at least in the pubic schools I attended long ago. Sure in the 50s we were all about conformity, to that culture, but it had more positives than negatives ,IMO. And that society created better human beings, in at least being responsible and honest. And having better social manners than today, for manners provides the lube for a society to get along better. Just common sense really, easily observed in day to day life living in this reality.

I said that many Americans ignore reality, but that is because their view of reality is created by the official stories coming from our gov't and spread by MSM. And so where in the past our Press would have run many stories from investigative journalist in regards to the devastation of globalism and offshoring our economy to slave labor, along with how in a society this reverbrates in a negative fashion throughout our society, and the problems it creates not just economically but socially and even medically, our Press has avoided this like the plague. For you cannot report the evils of globalism and how it affects our People. As you cannot report a more objective opinion of russia or many other states. For our news helps to manufacture consent for a foreign policy that is aggressive. Many americans are either oblivious to this or they ignore it. And this is also where the need to think deeply about such things and get all sides of the story comes in. We tend not to do that, most of us, IMO.

Yet I agree that most americans know so little about the world they live in, outside of our own borders. I think americans have always been like this, unless they are well off enough to be world travelers and exposed to other parts of the world. And if they hear about another nation it is generally restrained to consent being manufactured for something our gov't is about to do, once again to another nation. For our own foreign policy, the less americans know about the rest of the world, in some objective manner, the better. And the less we know about our republic(if we still have one) the better. So, when states controlled education, Civics was mandatory, so you learn about how your gov't is supposed to work, and what the responsibilities of each branch is to a citizen. And what your own responsibility is to your form of gov't. This is no longer taught in public school as a mandatory course. LOL Yes the absurdity and danger it presents to a republic is obvious, but the federal gov't stopped it being mandatory at some point. To dumb down citizens. For the current gov't we have would prefer only the upper classes to vote, since they are the only ones being represented anyways. But if the lower classes have to vote, make sure they are dumbed down and easily taken in by scam artists, like hillary and trump. Or any other person who runs for high office. And if you can keep some hyper division in place, so each tribe fights the other over nonsense, all the better! For you can play to the emotions of these rubes and run the gov't like you want to, which is only in the best interests of the upper class. Who have been given total control over what kind of economy we have. One that serves the People, or one that serves only the top dogs. So our people have been and are being conditioned to serve a gov't who has no intention of representing their best interests. But this can only happened when people cannot pay attention nor think deeply about anything important other than their newest video game.
