Oil prices fell to US $40 per barrel by the end of August, increasing the pressure on the ruble.

    Russia's economy continues to shrink.

I'm not sure how waging a protracted war in the Middle East will help them unless this move is to get the attention off of Ukraine.

Practice shows that it is always a good public relations move to distract the population from rising food prices and the devaluation of the ruble.

Was just asking a question. One cruise missile should be able to take out a bunch of camels and a tent in the middle of a desert. Well, not a Russian made missile but pretty much anyone else's.

A bunch of camels and a tent in the middle of a desert are goals for the US Air Force. So the US has no success against the ISIS. Russia bomb bunkers, weapons depots, training bases. Many of these facilities are large and well-fortified.

This is how Russia wins allies.... and the US loses them.

America is so weak right now.

    https://www.rt.com/business/317851-ruble-growth-oil-opec/

The Russian ruble continued to strengthen its position on Wednesday, trading at 62.35 to the US dollar, and 70.07 to the euro on the Moscow Stock Exchange as of 1:00pm MSK.

It’s the third trading day in a row in positive territory for the Russian currency. Last time the ruble was below 63 was almost two months ago.

Analysts say the ruble’s rebound comes on the back of rising oil prices. Crude began climbing on Tuesday after the US cut output forecasts and big producers signaled joint action to support the oil market.

The Energy Information Administration said in its monthly outlook that US crude production fell 120,000 barrels a day in September from a month earlier. It is the lowest level since September 2014, at 9 million barrels a day.

Prices have also been supported by the possibility of a meeting between Russia and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

"The market is possibly moving on speculation that OPEC and non-OPEC countries will find an agreement to cooperate," Carsten Fritsch, senior oil analyst at Commerzbank in Frankfurt told CNBC.

At a Tuesday conference in London, OPEC‘s chief Abdullah al-Badri said OPEC and non-OPEC members should work together to reduce the global supply glut. He added that oil prices were set to rebound as steep cuts in global oil investments have crimped supplies.

The global benchmark, Brent futures were up 30 cents on Wednesday to $52.22 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) increased by 64 cents to $49.17 a barrel.

Some experts say the situation can change dramatically at any time. Foreign markets are volatile, which means that the oil rally can dissolve rapidly and impact currencies.

Of course they are large and well-fortified. Those Toyota pick-ups are almost impossible to stop.

But seriously, Russia needs to kick some ass and the Obama administration needs to just shut up about it. The Messiah caused this entire thing by running his mouth and then not backing it up. So now Assad gets to stay and Obama can just continue to live with the idea of being a failure(again). Or he can do his usual finger pointing and blame someone else(again).

Spy Planes, Signal Jammers, and Putin’s High-Tech War in Syria

Russia’s transfer of advanced electronic warfare tools to Syria is the latest example of Moscow’s so-called “hybrid warfare” tactics, which use deception and covert operations to achieve strategic objectives with a minimal use of military force. Indeed, the Krasukha-4 was also spotted in Ukraine and played a key part in Russia’s campaign of electronic warfare there, which Kiev claimed resulted in a disruption of cell service at times. The deployment of the Krasukha, which can be used to disable aircraft avionics, came at around the same time that Western policymakers publicly entertained the idea of establishing a no-fly zone over eastern Ukraine. The positioning of the Krasukha, in addition to other air defenses, prevented the enforcement of such a no-fly zone and kept Putin in control of the skies, according to Igor Sutyagin, a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, a London think tank.

Now, too, the Krasukha has been put in place as several countries are calling for the establishment of a no-fly zone in northern Syria. Sutyagin described the deployment of the Krasukha as an effective “no-fly zone for those who want to create a no-fly zone.” For now, there is no evidence that the electronic warfare system has been used against American and other coalition planes flying in the skies over Syria, but its presence has surely been noted by the American military.

A bit better than Obama's 2% drone accuracy.

For every 50 people killed by one of Obama's drones... 1 was an intended high-level target.

As far as we have been told. I think Obama is hitting exactly the targets he wants to hit. Never accept anything from the Messiah's mouth as the truth. He has been proven to be a liar way too often.

I don't care how he does it, just that he kills murderous bastards while he's doing it.

The Russian military say that ISIS has many underground command posts and ammunition depots. Perhaps that ISIS is better equipped than you think.

Just pointing out that your info is old and things are now moving in the other direction as oil prices go.

But don't let being wrong stop you, Conrade.

I don't think one way or the other. But reports by any countries military are known to be slanted to the version of the "truth" they want to show the rest of the world.

I have seen the convoys of Toyota Pick-up trucks on TV multiple times though, not exactly a world class military vehicle. Perhaps ISIS has spent all it's money on "underground command posts and ammunition depots" ?

    It does not matter.
If you complain about accuracy than you should not think about what Obama wants but the way how he does it and how accurate this way is.
I see you are not aware of munition usage per target hit.

"not aware" or don't really give a (*)(*)(*)(*)?

Those are two completely different things...

"not aware" because you did not show any US accuracy or munition usage to compare.

Has Obama tried hanging "Gun Free" signs over the ISIS camps yet? Maybe that will work for him.

If that doesn't work maybe the Russians will accept a gun buyback?

I can't believe I'm saying this but....good job Russia. Kick the crap out of those bastards. It's too bad our government has turned into a bunch of liberal embarrassments.

This has nothing to do with conservative/liberal but for those trapped in the ideological fantasy of a black and white political world, I suppose this is the best they can say.

Obama is a lying war monger, for sure, but is is being tacitly supported by both parties. First and foremost, like most of those in congress, they are beholden to the corporations whom are profiting by this phony conflict. ISIS is a shill organization that was created and is being supported by Obama and those in congress whom are profiting by this. Russia is doing something the ISIS the US has been lying about, actually destroying it. ( Russia Just Exposed MASSIVE Secret About ISIS In Syria Obama Didn’t Want Out ) There is nothing ideological about this....just pure greed.

That would be an acceptable collateral damage ratio for the Pentagon. Getting their man it seems, is what's important to them.

Jeez. 200,000 Syrians killed because Obama decided Assad has lost his legitimacy.

Will someone remind me to send a memo to David Cameron, to remind him that he doesn't get pissed one evening on goblets of Dom and say something flippant about where next to put his pecker... or it'll be all aboard for regime change Blighty.

Huh? Has it not occurred to you that maybe more than one missile was aimed at a target? These are some examples of the materiel ISIL have used. Not a single Toyota pickup among them you'll note: http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/weapons-of-isis.asp

And the sooner the better, say I!!! I mean, the breath-taking nerve of these political no-hopers to go around the world deciding who is and who isn't a good leader? Don't they comprehend the stark irony of that fcs? [IMG]
