There are millions of children being home schooled in the US and there are special teaching programs for them. The parents are usually devout, and the children are usually two years ahead of others, so they have no problems getting into colleges.

 

Have you even been into an Orthodox Church and watched a baptism? Well I have news for you, the kids always scream...and it's not because the water is cold because it's not. They scream because they're being put into the water against their will.

Many home schooled children do fairly well but many also fail with social skills and being able to deal with people of diverse backgrounds.


Here it's a free country and if parents want to home school and they do it right then more power to them.

 

You are projecting! People home school because they don't want their children influenced by societal concepts that run contrary to their religious beliefs... And this might shock you, but part of those religious beliefs are an acceptance of cultural and racial diversity.

If they did not accept diversity they wouldn't be home schooling, and they would allow the imposition of the states 'politically correct' beliefs on their children.

Of course, I have. I think you missed the line of the conversation. We were talking about taking away children from parents by the state. Not directly related to the topic of the thread.

 

The trick is quite easy. The water freezes at 0 degrees. The temerature outside the water seems to be around -20 at least. And the water itself is much warmer than the temperature outside. It is probably around +3+5 degrees. If a boy is properly wiped and put in a warm car or house - it will only do good for him.
Ny mother and wife wanted to do the same trick this year. I was against of it. It is an adventure, but a too extreme one. The main problem will be not the trick itself but the road home. I am not sure that within 20-30 minutes after the exercise they will still be fine. If they were trained as I used to be (about 10 years ago I started every morning with a bucket of ice cold water and I did so for a couple of years in any weather) - I would have been positive. Kids are easier with it. It is easier to wipe them to make them warm after and to transport.

The boy in the video is naturally afraid. But it is normal. A real man in my opinion must be afraid of the situations he comes at the first time. When it is a second time - this very boy would feel happy and smile at those who would never become a man.
