Wherever he is Fidel must be sad.... (CNN)Bernie Sanders said he will assess his presidential campaign after his poor showing in Tuesday's Democratic primaries. "As I said yesterday, we are assessing the state of our campaign, there's not going to be an election for another three weeks," the Vermont senator told CNN Wednesday. "We are talking to our supporters. Anybody who suggests that at this point we are ending the campaign is not telling the truth." Sanders did not answer questions on whether he has a timeframe for making a decision or if he thinks there's a pathway for him to win the Democratic nomination." https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/18/politics/bernie-sanders-assess-2020-campaign/index.html
Bernie should stay in till the DNC convention because Biden may deteriorate from dementia into a total vegetable and defacto has to “retire”
Bernie should get out now. That puts all focus on the bumbling gaffe machine that is Biden. Bernie's numbers are pathetic. With this virus his impact is so marginalized that staying in is white noise...
Might as well. I figure between Biden and Trump and the virus, Bernie has at least 33 % chance to be next POTUS even if but for a few months after Pelosi poisons him and his VP
Did Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, Wyoming and Wisconsin move their primaries? P. R. votes March 29. No one cares about that primary but if Bernie wins, you can't quit after a victory. He should win the 3 April 4 races. If he loses there's no hope at all. because if Biden gets sick after those wins, he'll drop out but give his delegates to someone else and that person will keep beating Bernie. Wisconsin loves the underdog, but if he loses there April 7 he has no hope at all. If he wins 4 of 5 he waits to be clobbered April 28. The DNC can decide no more debates. They can't go anywhere anyways. His name remains on the ballots. He doesn't need donation money for future races, so spend it all on ads the next 5 weeks and do your job in the Senate. Does anyone consider how disappointing it will be if Biden runs unopposed and still loses a primary?
Bernie is setting money on fire if he spends even one more penny. Bernie doesn't have a prayer in Wisconsin. I think that Wisconsin could postpone (unless they quickly move to implement Mail-In Ballots). Wisconsin is one of those places where Bernie's Result would (most likely) mirror Michigan. Bernie just needs to get out and endorse Biden and then the Dems can move all of the Primaries until the first week in June and do all of them as mail-in. Why would Bernie want to keep setting money on fire?
If he becomes President the national debt might hit a quadrillion. Wasting money means nothing to him when it's other people's money. So the question is: how much humiliation can he take? He's in almost exactly the same position he was in 4 years ago at this time, except that Hillary's superdelegates were mentioned at all times, making him 700 behind, not 300. He doesn't expect to win. He never expected to win. I think we can now say with confidence he did not add to his constituency the past 4 years. Puerto Rico might be the last clue if he made any inroads with Latinos. On super Tuesday he went hard to invade new territory: Texas, California and Massachusetts. He got only one of those, but it was the biggest. In the process he lost Maine and Oklahoma. I think he accepted the trade. Losing Idaho and Washington state hurt, but again that was a loss he would have accepted if he kept Michigan. Biden can't clinch until May 12. When you play baseball, do you forfeit if you're losing after 5 innings?
