    why did she?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_Haddad

which is kind of interesting since the islamophobes will tell us that Muslim women are not allowed to marry non muslims ...

so are you saying ALL MUSLIMS ARE NOT THE SAME?

    Lols!

OK my mistake however its not that far off, just across the Caspian sea! From a Western point of view I would think they have a similar mindset to the central Asian Muslims in that they are more favourably disposed towards the West than Muslims from other parts of the world.

Yep come with more Hande Yeners....

Good question but she keeps it private, probably very wise!

All the people who have told me that Muslim women are not allowed to marry non Muslims have been Muslims, do you think they were Islamophobes? It certainly isn't very usual although I have a friend whose non Muslim brother is married to a Muslim women and one of my wife's friends is a Muslim married to a non Muslim. In both cases the women are estranged from their families. In the latter case the husband is under a death threat.

Generalisations have exceptions and this one we've discussed before so it shouldn't exactly come as any surprise. You have a tendancy to veiled generalisations by using "many" which only serves to cloud the issue.

some muslims say that. not all.

I have met hindu/muslim; christian/muslim and agnostic/muslim couples - usually people still have contact with their families and there is no issue.

I was surprised when I found my younger cousin's second wife was Muslim - I had thought she was probably a non practising christian - turns out she was muslim and her parents have no issue with her being married to a non muslim at all.

why do you only make generalisations about muslims?

I couldnt agree more.Neither Iranian nor Saudi Islam represents Islam.

On the other hand,I dont know ıf there is any model country which represents Islam.I think there is not a model country.I think the best models are Malasia and Egypt.

lols - I wonder which country best represents christianity?

do you think the US? or what about Italy?

lols ... each country develops according to its own history and circumstance, and the religion, while essentially remaining the same, adapts to that culture.

I find american evangelical christianity pretty scary!

African evangelical christianity is also pretty scary - I mean conservative. It is a variety of home grown aminist-christianity which has now been fertilised by radical american evangelism.

If a "new" christianity was launched from these countries, many americans (and others) would fear that just as much as they fear radical islam. and it would be more dangerous because initially, the home grown christians would probably not even see it as a threat.

lols - It would be really good for some of you guys to start posting some stuff about modern muslims - it might educate some of these people and make them realise you are not all osama bin laden clones!

Actually the migration of Christianity from region to region through history is pretty interesting. Sub-Saharan Africa and some parts of East Asia are becoming the new heartland of a revitalized Christianity.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Why have Sub-Saharan Africans become so ready to embrace the message of the King of the Jews?

    because

    - many were converted by christian missionaries a couple of centuries ago, and were already christians,

    - the end of the cold war has seen more missionary based groups going in to do the work that previously the USSR and USA used to do, making a renewed missionary presence.

    - due to current circumstances of the region, they are also among the poorest in the world, and when people have (*)(*)(*)(*)ty lives, the hope of salvation is especially attractive, making them easy to convert, or to be willing to embrace new forms of christianity

    - newer, more evangelical versions of christianity are particularly attractive to poorly educated people.

    answer your question?

    Who writes this garbage?

Two maids who were murderers have just been spared.

The key here is for the SAG to disallow any Indonesian workers.

Has this so called expert ever been to Saudi Arabia or does he induldge in rumor and gossip?

    http://www.newser.com/story/125382/maids-beheading-sparks-anti-saudi-backlash.html

    More talk of Hajj boycott.
I think in the years ahead this will become a reality.

More and more Muslims are having a real problem with this ideology sponsored and flowing out of Saudi.[/QUOTE]

You obviously weren't receptive to the education yourself regarding hijab as fashionable attire for a modern muslim rather than the kind of headgear sported by Hande Yener!
