The oil will have run out long before 40 years so I guess the government is trying to figure out how to run the country using Saudi's.

This is going to be very interesting to watch because Saudi's don't work. They have immigrants to do everything for them so I wonder how much Abdallah is going to have to pay them each month to get them out of bed to a job. Going to cost him a fortune that is! :omg:

Margot before you have a stroke and say the usual Press TV news look again. It is Saa oodi Gazette saying it not me or Press

Americans haven't done their own work since the colonists landed at Jamestown. So if the Saudis can get to the point where they do their own work in 40 years they will have done something that Americans haven't been able to do in 400 years.

Wait, what? So every bridge, every road, every building, every phone line, every hospital, every school - was built by what, slaves? Space aliens? The Flying Spaghetti Monster? Those sparkly vampires in Twilight? Please enlighten us - with links, of course.

Why do you think we have so many illegal aliens, assorted refugees, and H1B visa holders here? They do jobs Americans won't do.

Well, they're not doing MY job for me. Or my sisters job, or my wife's job, or my sons. They didn't do the work for either of my parents either.

Clearly, some of these aliens are slacking off!

How funny, Abu.. Why aren't you concerned about the poverty, illiteracy and unemployment in Egypt?

The Saudis have oodles of money and hordes of unemployed or underemployed workers. I find it hard to understand why it would take them 40 years to replace all the imported workers. If this is a cultural thing, it's not a good cultural thing.

There is no comparison. I've a number of friends who've worked over there, I get the same story each and every time. You arrive at the office, an Indian guy is employed to make you your tea. He does nothing else, for anyone else. He makes you, your tea. The Saudi's have become the laziest people on the planet, when they money runs out there'll be huge domestic problems, in that a) only the royal family and a few hangers ion will have money b) everyone else will have to actually do something.

I have to admit, I've long wondered why so many of the posters who say they're from the UK post so much about the US (or Israel) and so little about, well - the UK.

I wire and program locomotive PTC systems. Where are my alien helpers? I want some!

When I have to do bearing checks after a long run at eighth notch, I want an alien to remove the oil covers and hit the mains and rods with a pyrometer. It's too hot for an American such as myself. It burns my soft, pink hands.

If they want to make Saudis work, there is basically only one thing the government could do: restrict foreign workers. Wages and working conditions are dependant on the ratio of labor supply and work demand. If you decrease labor supply, employers will have to pay more, and more Saudis will work.

Right now, the Saudis are addicted to a cheap supply of labor. But as we have found out in the USA and many european countries, cheap labor is not "cheap" at all in the long term. It brings severe challenges. This is not sustainable and cannot continue forever.

40 years is a generation. Basically, they are saying that the current generation is untrainable and that those yet unborn will have to be trained to get their hands dirty and work.

It's not illegal aliens who build the bulldozers at Cat that the Israelis use to run over Palestinian houses. It's not illegal aliens who build our bombers and drones.

THE GOOD NEWS: The front-page story in one of the newspapers here was about how the drone business is creating new jobs in California and revitalizing the aerospace industry.

THE BAD NEWS: When protesters say they want more drones over their dead body - it might actually happen! :omfg:

As you may have noticed, I also wrote H1B visa holders. Now as Cat's H1B visa holders = http://www.myvisajobs.com/Visa-Sponsor/Caterpillar/98869.htm. Notice their average pay range for 2012 =

$84,414 - $103,746

    And how about Boeing? http://www.myvisajobs.com/Visa-Sponsor/The-Boeing/75832.htm $112,999 - $130,350.

    It's amazing, isn't it?

Please learn American history. The indigenous people here had next to nothing to do with creating America. Most of them weren't even citizens until 1924 and some didn't become citizens until the 1940s. They are no more "native Americans" than Moses was.
