Good for her. If it weren't for the threat of death, more sane people would reject religion. This religion is not a great deal for women. Men get 70 virgins and women can only hope to spend eternity getting raped by little pieces of terrorist!

 

I don't think the exact numbers are so important as the attitude.
They are taken at different times, different places, and different groups, so they will vary somewhat.

Nonsense. Christianity is spread through the word of mouth. Christianity produces preachers while Islam produces jihadi warriors. Christianity encircled the entire Mediterranean Sea within 300 years of Jesus death, spread by nothing more than the word of mouth, persecuted every step of the way by the governing authorities. Within 80 years of Muhammads death, the muslims were waging violent jihad in Spain to the West and Afghanistan to the East. The first action of the first Caliphate following Muhammads death was to wage the wars of Apostasy against their own people because they stopped paying the tax to Mecca. Just as the Koran and Hadiths commands them to do. Spreading Christianity through violence directly contradicts the writings of the bible.

You even mention Spain so you're aware it exists. But you've never heard of the Spanish Inquisition? I could go on with a pretty lengthy list of other occasions where Christians attempted to spread their religion with a lot more force than 'word of mouth', but it's not worth it.

I think you watch to much television... You take the example the news gives you and then project it onto the entire culture or religion. Often, the people who seek to leave Saudi Arabia- or any place- do so as whole families when they can or leave in groups in order to facilitate the removal of their families in the future. The laws that incur these punishments on the populace is not religious in origin, it is the state adopting the veneer of religious authority. Your so obsessed with slandering Islam you can't see it for what it is.

 

Actually the laws about apostacy are 100% religious in origin.

Apostates ARE NOT people who "don't follow the religion". They are people who disavow their previous religion of Islam.

The Qur'an is not a source to learn about Islam.
Nothing survived about Muhammed during his lifetime.
The companions of Muhammed, were even written from the 10th to 12th century.
The hadiths is the place where you learn about Muhammed.
Without them, there is no Muhammed.
The first writings are 125 years late.
The first mention of Muhammed in history is 60 years late, but it is unlikely it is him. It is a Christian source that speaks of the "Mahood", ( The chosen one), a title and not a proper name. A title shared by Jesus, Mary, and the 5th calief Malick.
No mention of the Qur'an, Muslims, Islam, Muhammed, Just "the godless pagans"

There are volumes written by different authors, many confirming another.
We know more about Muhammed than we do George Washington.
We know how he prayed
We know how he ate
We know how he sh-t.
We know his claim to the booty
We know his favorite killing methods.
We know his favorite torture methods.
etc. etc. etc.

 

That's a Meccan verse, written when Muhammad was in Mecca with his new religion, and even the people of his own tribe would throw camel dung at him and mock his religion. Then he went to Medina, gained a raiding army of supporters and the Medinan verses were written. Like an old and new testament of the Koran. Then it was written convert or die.

[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

AND the Hadith, Koran and those who told stories about Muhammad all agree, death for apostates.
