Then they have chosen to kill their loved one (via starvation, or whatever). That's on them.

Calling it 'affordable housing' is one of the biggest cons the Left perpetrates. Affordability is economics .. PURELY economics. Your income is X, so you can afford to pay X for housing. That's the beginning and end of affordability. Now, since America has some of the cheapest real estate in the Western World (houses can still be bought for $5k), there is of course more than enough affordable housing for every 'poor' family in the country. That's the first part of the con.

The second part is the repulsive idea that those who haven't worked for it (ie, earned it) have some kind of right to live in big expensive coastal cities.

Anyone who falls for this 'affordable housing' BS is complicit in the con.

These conservatives have never been to the three great liberal West Coast cities, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. The Republican misinformation machine has to dishonestly bash these places because they are better than anything Republicans have. The can't sell the Republican brand if Democratic dominated areas are always bettering them. So they pull in their base and bash what is better.

Lolz ... yep those liberal citiies are beautiful. No homeless, no hypo's, no feces, no 3rd world epidemics, and no gang violence. << That's your fantasy. Here's my reality. >> My fly-over suburb, population 50K, has none of those things. None. Our streets are clean, no graffiti, no hypo's, no homeless, no excrement. Communities like OURS don't get "developement" or "renewal" subsidies, because they ARE beautiful, safe, and healthy enviroments. Are you on the board of tourism, or a travel agent perhaps?

What does he have to do with your denial? Are you one of loons who thinks 100 Ruskies 2,000 mi. south of our border is a threat to our nations safety, but says the 1 million border jumpers we're invaded by every year aren't a threat? Where exactly do liberals go to get all "intellectualized" like that? I gotta add it to my "no go zone" map.

Sure ... you want my phone number too? It's real funny that you think communities like mine are scarce. I guess it's because we're not connected to the sh!tholes we encircle by public transplantation that you're unfamiliar with them.

No, just the name of the city. I'm not trying to identify you personally. Not sure how that would even work, given there are 50,000 people in your town.

I didn't say they were. Stop making stuff up.

I will give you one in Wisconsin. Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.... overwhelming Trump country. My brother lives there.

Looking at the stats, it appears to destroy San Francisco in every meaningful stat EXCEPT diversity...... Oconomowoc is very very undiverse and very conservative.

Compare the wealth inequality of conservative Oconomowoc with that of progressive San Francisco...

Tell you what Mr curiosity ... Google crime stats by congressional districts, and then tell me why you think my republican district is the exception to the undeniable rule. Urban decay is real, and republicans coluldn't be less sympathetic because we don't reside in (D) sh!tholes.

I actually enjoyed my last trip to seattle, beautiful area, didn't experience any issues while in the city, but when I see a city skyline I tend to drive the other direction since I enjoy nature more than crowds.

I very much prefer my relatively sleepy city here at home but Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia, were great places to visit.

Strange that people pounding their keyboards daily running down great Cities like LA, San Francisco and Seattle won’t even divulge where they live. Pretty CS if you ask me. Is it a matter of national security? Here in Los Angeles, urban renewal is in full swing and has transfomed several once rundown neighborhoods into excellent places to live with great restaraunts, shops, art galleries, music venues and other amenities. That’s real and nobody cares about what hick town blowhards are shouting from the cheap seats.

So weak. White flight ain't a myth. Beautiful cities were decimated by public housing, rent subsidies and welfare incentives to procreate. Head downtown to a public school and poll the children. Find out how many go to museums, and how frequently. Opera, ballet ... Starbucks. The overwhelming majority of the urban population would sooner burn them down than utilize them. They all represent and house the symbols of oppression.

If you won't give me the info I need to verify your claim, it's kind of hard to take your claim seriously.

OK don't. If you don't live in Seattle you shouldn't rule it out.

Ok, Oconomowoc. Cool. I grew up in Madison, so I'm even somewhat familiar with it, though that was decades ago.

The basic problem is that you're comparing a ruralish commuter suburb to a large city. They're different animals, so making valid comparisons is difficult.

For instance, a place like Oconomoc tends to provide very little in the way of social-service infrastructure, essentially outsourcing that cost to the nearby city.

Oconomoc doesn't have a single homeless shelter, for instance -- the nearest one is Waukesha.
    https://www.homelessshelterdirectory.org/cgi-bin/id/city.cgi?city=Oconomowoc&state=WI

As well, Oconomoc is a commuter suburb, which essentially screens for people with jobs who can afford to commute by car.

Overall, the city has simply made it difficult for poor people, or people who need social services, to live there. That's not addressing the problem: it's ignoring the problem and pushing it on to other locations.

It's not a liberal/conservative thing -- there are plenty of liberal commuter suburbs, too. And I'm not saying it's necessarily deliberate, though it can be.

And it doesn't mean you don't have homeless people: they just tend to be less visible.

It was meant more in the sense of acknowledging your view of the show, which proved itself by earning a long run.

I did like his brother in that.

I didn't watch much TV during that period. Not so much lack of humor - just a lot of really fun hard work.

I personally know and know of people buying them to flip. $5k is the very low end, but $10k will get you plenty.

They fly over, remember. Hard to spot the (no) poop from 30,000 feet.
