    Sen. Dick Durbin on Friday morning confirmed that President Donald Trump referred to some countries as “shithole” countries and said things that were “hate-filled, vile and racist.”

    Durbin, who was in the meeting with Trump, made his comments just moments after Trump denied using the expletive on Twitter.

    The Washington Post reporter who broke the story Thursday that President Trump referred to Haiti and several African nations as "shithole countries" during an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers says he stands by the story in the wake of Trump's denials.

    Josh Dawsey told CNN that the fact that the White House did not deny the story overnight until Trump's tweet this morning was proof enough that the quote was real. "In the course of our reporting yesterday we took the comments we were going to report directly to the White House, told them exactly what we were going to say. We did not get a denial," Dawsey told CNN.

    "Obviously, [White House spokesman Raj Shah's] statement did not deny. We got it confirmed from multiple places, The New York Times, The Associated Press, CNN have confirmed it as well," he added.

    "This comes 15 hours later," the reporter continued. "So the president obviously has the right to express his opinion on the story, as he has on Twitter, but we stand by our reporting 100 percent."

    Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) fired back at President Trump for denying that he called Haiti and African countries “shithole countries,” saying Trump’s denials are “not true.”

    “In the course of his comments, [Trump] said things that were hate-filled, vile and racist,” Durbin told reporters on Friday. “I cannot believe in this history of the White House, in that Oval Office, any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard our president speak yesterday.”

    Durbin was one of several lawmakers in the meeting during which Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as “shithole countries,” according to The Washington Post.

    “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump reportedly said.
    Trump then said the U.S. should bring in more immigrants from countries like Norway.

    What's racist about calling something that it obviously is? If anyone thinks calling a country a shithole is racist then what about the people in this country who put America on blast?

    Claiming he said things which were " racist hateful and vile " is not very credible. Especially since he gives no specific examples.

    The shithole country thing was not racist or hateful or vile it is merely accurate.

    Even though the Trump White House did not deny that President Donald Trump called Haiti and assorted African countries “sh*tholes” on Thursday, Trump on Friday morning furiously denying he had ever said any such thing.


    Even though Trump claims to have a “wonderful relationship” with Haitians, the president on Thursday similarly said he had a good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a man whom Trump has repeatedly threatened with nuclear annihilation.

    The only mistake Trump is making is in hinting at a denial that he said it.

    He should claim it and stand behind it because it happens to be accurate and true.

    His very election shows how sick Americans have become of politically correct double speak.

    he called a spade a spade and there is nothing wrong with that.

    Dick Durbin is a clown and says the term "chain migration" is hurtful to blacks because they were brought to this nation in chains.
    That's the level of stupidity and duplicity he is operating on. He's getting in on the shame fest, like vultures around road kill, as a senior
    democrat propagandist but we see this fake outrage for what it is....political opportunism designed to further the collapse of the nation

    Well, if he did use that word, it just feeds the beast on the left, so if it's true, I'd prefer he consider a different word in the future.

    Perhaps something like garbage dump, cesspool, or ash heap. Or simply just failed countries.

    All are accurate and indisputable.
