    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...lied-info-used-meeting-russians-trump-n819526

    2017 report:

"Starting in 2014, Simpson and Veselnitskaya had both worked on the same side of the Prevezon case, in which the Justice Department accused the Cyprus-based Russian company of laundering hundreds of millions of dollars via New York real estate. Beginning in 2016, Simpson was working with a former British intelligence operative on another project — the Trump dossier.

In a statement to NBC News, a lawyer for Fusion GPS said Fusion's work on the dossier was totally separate from its work on the Prevezon case. Levy said the firm was unaware of the Trump Tower meeting when it happened.

"No one from Fusion GPS had any idea Ms. Veselnitskaya would be meeting with anyone from the Trump campaign," attorney Josh Levy said. "Nor did anyone from Fusion GPS know she would be sharing anything she learned from either the company or the Prevezon matter with the Trump campaign. This whole episode came as a complete surprise to Fusion when the news broke this summer."

Reuters was the first to report that the information originated with Fusion."

I wonder who the snitch is! Page and Sater (I think) both have done it before...but it sounds more like it was popodoplous.

See, here's the problem: I don't believe them. They were unwilling to deluge the information as to who paid them for the Dossier, but they're willing to say "we didn't know this meeting was going to happen!". Yeah, I call dibs on that. We have so much circumstantial evidence regarding this Lawyer that it's clear that it was a setup, and this connection with Fusion even if loose is just another tie to that end.

Our intelligence communities violated protocol, and that has to be dealt with.

Essentially, the shocker from this release which was a mistake by Feinstein is that it's undeniable proof that the FBI engaged in gestapo like tactics to illegally create evidence, use that said illegally created evidence to get warrants for the purpose of spying on a political campaign.

The Dossier, the mole and the lawyer were all means to an end by the most corruption ever seen in our intelligence community. It's truly and utterly shocking how deep they were willing to go. When pieces and tidbits of this came out, I was the first to suspect but I needed verification. Now we have that verification. Now we as a Public have to ask: Is this level of corruption acceptable? Are you okay with the Gestapo if it means your political enemies are eliminated?

We've learned that the IRS Tea Party thing was peanuts, compared to what was happening at senior levels of intelligence. We should all be equally crying out for reform in this instance.

You'll have to be careful here. Many of your adversaries here on this forum have graduated magna cum lauded from Trump University School Of Law. These are some of the best legal minds in America, and many of them are certified Ditto-Heads who have been fully Hannitized. Tread carefully sir!

lol I hope you realize that there is more evidence connecting Fusion GPS to Veselnitskaya than there is the Trump campaign to the Russian government.

There are already wide reports that the "mole" is actually the Australian diplomat that reported his conversation with Popuadopolist to the FBI.

They were part of the Hillary campaign. They knew full well who they were working for. They admitted that in their OP-ED. I don't see any distiction between them and anyone in the Trump campaign.

Let's look at this from a legal point of view: It's very doubtful to say the least that the FISA Court would reauthorize the warrant on the basis of a verbal argument(unless the Australian diplomat gave a written statement, which we don't know. But let's go on the assumptions with what we know, that it was word of mouth.) In other words, the filing contained physical evidence. The question was, is, and still unanswered: Did they use the Dossier as physical evidence?

The DOJ could provide the answer tomorrow if it so chose, yet it has refused to do so.

Well that was a far more interesting piece of reading than Fire and Fury. Personally I don't care about his goldenshower gate... there's not much more Trump can do to lower my opinion of him, what concerns me more is his ties to organized crime.

    Interesting.

You can understand why the Republicans were furiously trying to suppress the transcript, which contains no classified information.
    • First, it makes clear that Steele was engaged because of his expertise and contacts. He was not told to find anything in particular, but just to research the totality of Trump’s involvement in Russia.
    • Second, according to Simpson, Trump was doing business all over the former Soviet states of Georgia and Azerbaijan. Interestingly, Trump repeatedly denied having financial ties in Russia itself but never publicly denied operations in states in which Russians exercised substantial influence.
    • Third, in investigating Trump’s finances they found his properties were not as highly valued as he suggested and, in the case of several golf courses, weren’t making money.
    • Fourth, Steele took it upon himself to report his finding to the FBI because he believed there was a “crime in progress” and matter of national security. He later relayed to Simpson that the FBI already had information from a campaign source.
    • Fifth, Trump lied about not knowing who Felix Sateris. Simpson testified, “This was something he didn’t want to talk about and testified under oath he wouldn’t know Felix if he ran into him in the street. That was not true. He knew him well and, in fact, continued to associate with him long after he learned of Felix’s organized crime ties. So, you know, that tells you something about somebody.” We do not know if Sater was in fact tied to organized crime.
    • Sixth, Simpson called it a reasonable “interpretation” that the Trump Tower meeting was designed by Russian officials to reach out to and cooperate with the Trump team.
    • Seventh, far from interfering in the election to benefit Hillary Clinton, the FBI did not publicly disclose during the campaign the wealth of information it was learning about Trump and Russia.

It doesn't sound like a nothing-burger to me. There was no classified info released. Dianne did the right thing by releasing the testimony. Fusion GPS went to the FBI for help and this is how we treat them. What allies are going to come forward with info after this type of treatment?

Can't be George P...we know he didn't contact the FBI...they contacted him. And Simpson said the mole was concerned and called the FBI....

None of that information is significant. More significant is that Simpson, through his lawyer refused to give Committee the information as to who paid him and why. More significant is that it was openly stated in the record that he had no way of confirming his information. Not just as it pertained to the Trump Investigation, but OTHER investigations.

So yes, if you don't have any verified or trustworthy information I'd rather you NOT poison the FBI for future reference to anybody else. The attempt to claim transparency, and that the Repubs were 'lying' fell flat on Feinstein's face. The investigation into corruption by the intelligence community continues unabated.

Did you miss the memo? All negative, perceived negative or possibly negative comments on Trump are classified on a need to no* basis.

*No, I did not misspell know

There was nothing particularly incriminating for the Trump campaign either. However, there's we now know certainty that the Dossier is trash. And hidden deep beneath Feinstein's little treasonous act(with which Congress will deal with later), we finally got the INFO from the DOJ that we've been looking for. And the Congress is deliberating on how to release it.

You know for certain. Therein lies your problem, you're certain and therefore you can dismiss out of hand any and all evidence to the contrary. There are people even today that know for certain that the Earth is flat, man can do noting to affect the climate, no man has ever walked on the moon, laetrile cures cancer and pink elephants can fly.

Steele was paid to do research. All of the info is significant. He was obligated to notify the FBI when he felt a crime was being committed. It is up to the FBI to investigate those findings. It is their job! The reason the FBI took the dossier seriously is because it corroborated reports that they had already received from other sources.

Steele is a former intelligence officer with ties to US intelligence. He was hired because he is an expert on Russia. He is an ally, not the enemy.

Which 'reports' from, what 'other sources'? If such things were known, they actually yes would have launched a case. 18 months in, and they failed to do so. No, you want to know what the FBI's real obligation was? To take a fraudulent document, and THROW IT IN THE GARBAGE. That's what they're supposed to do. And in most cases, that's what they do with fraudulent information.

Comey testified that it was fraudulent(they call it 'unverified'. As if for them that makes it cleaner.) This is a disgrace for all Americans, the FBI basically never followed protocol, and we need to find out why.

How is it treasonous if it was not classified info? I read that Grassley told Feinstein that R's would produce their own separate report and for the minority members of the committee to do the same.

It's better that Feinstein release the testimony than bits and pieces be leaked by R's trying to downplay the investigation.

There's no evidence to the contrary, this full released transcript isn't it. In fact, Simpson's lawyer went out of his way to prevent the committee from gaining any meaningful information that would have contributed to the case. I'm about as mad of that, as I am that the FBI basically used fraudulent evidence to conduct unlawful warrants(in violation of the 4th Amendment) and have since basically engaged in a miserable coverup.

Unverified is NOT fraudulent, so no, Comey did not testify that it was fraudulent. This is an ongoing investigation. You'll get to find out all the info you need when the investigation is over.

This investigation will be over when Mueller says it's over.

I think Congress needs to pull the plug. The American People are funding an investigation into a fraudulent document, created by fabricated evidence and a meeting has all of the appearance of further fabrication. It's THAT, that I want to investigate. How much fraud was perpetuated against Congress and the American People?
