Someone started a thread about artificial wombs. They can grow a baby in an artificial environment.

Just think, you could put an artificial womb [preloaded with eggs] in a sex robot and end up with a pregnant robot!

 

Well they better made great advanced in the realism of these robots so they actually feel and talk like real people because I don't want this thing jerking me off:

Sex Robots are a joke now, but in 20 years? Who knows how the technology will advance? If they are realistic enough (and I admit I don't know what that point would be) it could put a crimp in normal dating and relationships. If guys can get a hot robot that has model quality looks, better than anything they can get in real life, at what point would that become not just an acceptable, but preferable substitute?

 

If they are going to be truly "competitive" with real women, they will have to fake orgasms.

 

I think that's setting the bar pretty low for that particular technological fix.

 

Pssssst, it was a joke. But there is usually truth in humor.

In order for the illusion to go beyond glorified masturbation, the robot would have to respond like a real woman. This is why I think remote controlled prostitution may become a thing, We will be able to emulate most of the physical aspects of sex soon enough. But a lifelike response would seem to be far beyond any AI coming soon. That will require a controller.

So strange to think about but it is coming fast.

Funny, I quickly find myself pondering the programming requirements for sexual interaction. It would be a fun problem. hmmm, maybe not so hard to do...

 

Interesting concept that is probably closer to reality than you realise.

Surgeons can control remote robotic arms already so what you are proposing is prostitutes controlling sex robots to provide a more "realistic" experience. Far safer and sanitary since it won't involve any exchange of bodily fluids but will the sex bot "swallow"?

 

Well I don't know how far technology has to advance, both on the AI side and the actual physical "life-like" aspects of a sexbot to get across the uncanny valley that makes them actually a viable (loosely defined) alternative. I mean, if it gets to the point that they can cook and clean too, then it's game over for real women.
