Having worked with journalists most of my adult life I have little or no use for them. As a group, and individually, they are an arrogant bunch of snobs who look down on others as the unwashed. There are a few exceptions of course but generally they have no honor. They appear nice and friendly on TV but don't try to hold a conversation with them because they won't give you the time of day. What can be worse than being a shallow individual yet thinking you are God's gift to mankind?
Well last night while watching Tucker Carlson of Fox News he explained how the NYT is trying to get him off the air. Clearly the NYT doesn't support free speech unless you agree with them. Big shame for a newspaper. Here's what Tucker had to say last night . . .
    .
Fox News host Tucker Carlson revealed on Monday night that The New York Times is planning to publish a report on where his family lives after they had to move due to an attack on their home by Antifa and due to repeated death threats that they have received.

"So why is The New York Times doing a story on the location of my family’s house? Well, you know why. To hurt us, to injure my wife and kids so that I will shut up and stop disagreeing with them. They believe in force. We’ve learned that. Two years ago, a left-wing journalist publicized our home address in Washington. A group of screaming antifa lunatics showed up while I was at work. They vandalized our home. They threatened my wife. She called 911 while hiding in a closet. A few weeks later they showed up again at our house. For the next year, they sent letters to our home threatening to kill us. We tried to ignore it and felt cowardly to sell our home and leave. We raised our kids there in the neighborhood and we loved it. But in the end that’s what we did. We have four children. It just wasn’t worth it."

"But The New York Times followed us. The paper has assigned a political activist called Murray Carpenter to write a story about where we are now. They’ve hired a photographer called Tristan Spinski to take pictures. Their story about where we live is slated to run in the paper this week. Editors there know exactly what will happen to my family when it does run. I called them today and I told them. But they didn’t care. They hate my politics. They want the show off the air. If one of my children gets hurt because of a story they wrote, they won’t considered it collateral damage, they know it’s the whole point of the exercise: To inflict pain on our family, to terrorize us, to control what we say. That’s the kind of people they are."

I now see Carlson's fans are announcing the home address of the journalist at the NYT who published Tucker's address. Sounds fair to me.

This is not true. There is no evidence to substantiate this. The Times has denied this:The New York Times claims that Carlson was told before he made the accusation on air that it was not pursuing such a story and had no plans to. Following the broadcast, the paper released a statement reading, in part, “The Times has not and does not plan to expose any residence of Tucker Carlson’s, which Carlson was aware of before tonight’s broadcast.”
Any paper would surely be foolish to open themselves to such liability and I don't think the Times id foolish.
Question, What would the New York Times gain by doing this?

And Carlson would be foolish to announce the names of the NYT journalist and photographer on his program he claims are going to do this to him. You choose to believe the NYT and I choose to believe Carlson.

Gee, what a coincidence this comes right after Tucker and other Faux talking heads were accused of sexual harassment.

"On Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a surprising accusation: the New York Times, he said, was trying to endanger him and his family by revealing where they live in an upcoming story. As he lambasted the newspaper on-air, Carlson suggested that his prime-time show could expose the home addresses of the reporter and Times editors.

Within hours, an army of conservative Twitter accounts started publicly posting the address and personal information of the reporter Carlson identified as the story’s writer. Many encouraged people to harass the reporter.

In a statement to The Washington Post, a spokesperson for the Times denied Carlson’s claims.

“While we do not confirm what may or may not publish in future editions, the Times has not and does not plan to expose any residence of Tucker Carlson’s, which Carlson was aware of before tonight’s broadcast,” the spokesperson said."

"The lawsuit also alleges Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Howard Kurtz and Gianno Caldwell engaged in inappropriate and suggestive behavior."

You complain that journalists are a breed apart from the everyday American, then hilariously decide that TV entertainers are more believable? That’s so cute.

Now if you had said both parties have questionable histories and that neither should be believed, I might have agreed, but taking the word of a TV entertainer at face value is hilarious.

What does the NYT have to gain by any of their publishing? It has turned into a rag that should be racked with the National Enquirer in the checkout lanes of a supermarket.

Hey, thanks, you gave us a twofer. The NYT AND the WaPo each supporting one another. What a crock of ****.
The good news, Carlson, and Fox are making so much money off each other that he can put a security team on the roof of his house and dump hot lead on those slimy little bastards that attempt to breach his property and still have the tax deduction for doing so.

Tucker is trying to put himself in the role of the aggrieved victim (like Trump) when he knew he was telling a lie.

The OP must have spent time with conservative journalists to reach that impression.

Re-read my post Danny Boy, I said there are exceptions. Maybe Carlson is the exception, I don't know, I never met him in person like a lot of journalist I have met and dealt with at the 6 different newspapers I worked at including the largest newspaper in my state. Do you personally know any journalist?

Carlson has already moved once when Atifa threatened his home. Check the police report when his wife called 911. A conservative journalist is as scarce as hen's teeth. There are a few who work for Fox News.

Hey, if you feel that it is wrong to expose the address of a journalist, why do you support the same thing being done to a journalist you disagree with? Oh, I know, it is not really the principle that you stand for, it is your side against "them". Trump has trained you well.

The difference being that only one side is unhinged enough to actually screech at you like howler monkeys in public, and show up in a mob at your house and bang on your door and terrorize your children.

And we all know what side does that.

I don't condone protesters going to someone's house. But accounts of what happened vary.
    https://archive.thinkprogress.org/i...se-heres-what-actually-happened-665c2dc0cb67/

To put Carlson's accusation in context 1. He had just returned from a "vacation" following the release of his top writer when he was exposed for writing racist/sexist posts on a message board. 2. He had just been named in a sexual harassment lawsuit along woith other Faux personalities. 3. Tucker was made aware the NYT was not pursuing the story he claims they were.

Tucker needs a distraction...........and some sympathy. So he decided to make up an accusation about a right wing bogeymen......the NYT.
Please provide evidence he moved after the ANTIFA incident.......I couldn't find any. Thanks.

No but I do have a problem with fighting nothing with fire.
Tucker Carlson has changed the subject after returning to the air from his writer's racist comment to how he is the victim of the NYT. Actually it is a pretty well planned move: ...They were going to do something to hurt me and my family so I had to tell you about it so now they won't dare do it... It erases the need for evidence, changes the subject, makes him the victim, paints the NYT in a negative way and gives you the opportunity to be outraged. Grasshopper has learned well...

What did he make up, the first time his address was made public by the press, or the reveal that the NYT is about to do it again?

NYT says they had no plans of publishing his address and that Carlson was aware of this. This wasn't even one of their reporters, just a freelance reporter who wanted to publish a story with them.

Sorry, but Carlson has become extremely prone to fake outrages lately, and he's desperate to distract from the news about his writer. His fans went on to actually dox the reporter.
