Yes, a person who comes up with an idea owns it. If he chooses to give it away by sharing it with others then he no longer owns it. It is now in other people's brains because he has taken action to transfer the idea to their brains.

Don't know--Marxism, like free-market capitalism, has never existed.

thats a very common perception and not true also imo. thats generally a capitalist mindstate if of course you refer to profit as money.

Regardless of your opinion, the rise of invention occurred after the creation of patent laws. Having a limited time to profit from a patent gives incentive to profit from it ASAP. People trying to get around other patents also leads to innovation.

Please explain with examples. The above is just doublespeak. (BTW, the word is nonsense, not none-sense)

there are no examples of inventions since 1400. everything after that point was an innovation on an already existing idea.

This may be kind of off topic......
but if super efficient carborateurs do exist that can get eighty miles per gallon more......
then a truly ethical President would void the application of patent law that keeps those
life saving carborateurs off the market............

No.... people should not be able to have absolute ownership over an idea... especially one that can benefit and save many lives.....
