We disagree. Correctly assigning blame for our current condition matters enormously. One party is trying to preserve democratic principles while one is trying to weaken them.

Referring to the critics who raise issues about the other party, like what goes in in this forum, not the crap we elect

 

And they'll threaten as many SCOTUS judges, pack the courts, burn cities and set up autonomous zones until they get their democratic principles.

I'm addressing the thread's topic, not resorting to a mealy-mouthed, limp-wristed "fine people on both sides."

 

This must be False Equivalence Day. The actions of a tiny minority who threaten judges or participated in those BLM protests that turned violent do not represent the vast majority of Dems as, say, support for the Big Lie and the Big Liar represents a large portion of the POT and the anti-democratic crusade they are part of.

 

An extremist majority on the Court can impose the dogma of a minority upon everyone, but the guardians of America's system of jurisprudence need not tug forelocks and kowtow rather than respect the public will.

 

That deflection is much too lengthy a conversation. The point being the views held by Dems on virtually every major issue are in the majority.

 

I suppose it would be too much to expect from Merrick, but I'd like to see the sentiment expressed in that letter be applied to the DoJ.

Neither side wants to accept that the majority of people are against their side, either by voting for the opposing party or for the lesser of two evils, No one's platform is fully supported by over half the country

If those measures ensure the majority gains more control, as opposed to the current situation where the minority has undo influence, so be it. That's the essence of democracy. Don't ask me to feel bad about taking steps to keep a vocal minority from imposing their will on me. As Repubs often say, if you don't like it (democracy) you can leave.
