I'm still waiting for you to tell me how they're "inequal" and why they should be equal.

Don't hide now. Your red herring isn't interesting. Its a simple question: Are you in favour of such extreme inequalities, despite not being consistent with any economic rationale associated with skill sets or work ethic?

You responded to my question posed to someone else.

I didn't think you could answer it. I was right.

And I informed you why your response was nonsensical. Inequality is growing for the working class and that reflects the extreme nature of distribution shifts

You continue to hide. I've destroyed your comment. In that destruction, I asked a simple question to help you along: Are you in favour of such extreme inequalities, despite not being consistent with any economic rationale associated with skill sets or work ethic?

No, asking how they're inequal should have a very easy response, if you had one. Which you don't.

You're welcome to keep strutting around the chess board pecking at stuff.

Living in denial does not refute the truth of what I posted. Open a history book if that truth bothers you.

I'm not a fan of your dodge. It lacks integrity. The comment said "the problem is that inequality is growing for the entire working class". I've referred to the reality: inequality problems have intensified across the majority of the population, all because of the skewing of resources towards a small minority. I've asked you a simple question. Do you support that intensification of inequalities, despite how its alien to any notion of economic rationale associated with skills or work ethic? Its a simple question. Yes or no? If you refuse to answer you simply inform me that honest debate on this issue is beyond you.

Says the guy who thinks Paine was referring to socialism instead of capitalism.

Fair compensation for fair work is not socialism.

I notice you didn't answer when I asked if you agreed to work requirements for welfare.

    You should read "Common Sense".

    You're dropping feathers everywhere.

I asked a question of someone else. You interjected with another question without answering my question.

A question you still haven't answered.

Until you do, you can keep squawking and congratulating yourself or whatever it is you're doing there.

There's been no mention of socialism. Why do you insist on deliberately misrepresenting? It is pathetic.

In the basis for the book you mentioned, but apparently don't understand.

You see, Paine wanted to ensure that the workers on the farms owned by the landholders were adequately compensated with pay and benefits.

I.E. it's an argument against share-cropping, script payments, other things done with farming back then.

Why would you assume they'd go to a food bank if they can afford to go to the grocery store?

Where in your imagination do you see that in my posts?

And yes, I read "Common Sense" as well as "Age of Reason". All well before you did.

You referred to them as progressive leftists, which is really just a synonym for socialist.

Oh yes you know you read them before me because your feelings told you it must be true. You go with that.

Under a democratic system, the People express their values by the policies their elected representatives legislate.

Distribution of wealth is always a consequence of those policies.

It would seem that the cure for inequality would be for those who are falling behind to try a little harder.... Work more, learn more, do more, bitch less....

That's an interesting observation for I too have worked at a food bank and notice the same situation. Our food bank was overrun with bread and baked goods but had little luck in getting the local chain to contribute produce because of local regulations. But that's just part of the problem. In short, food banks are wonderful ideas but don't look to them for a balanced diet.

A lot of disadvantaged on food stamps are faced with high fat and cholesterol products like dairy and have no idea how to purchase or prepare healthy meals or establish a diet plan. That's a problem that local, state or federal governments have done a poor job of addressing. That falls into education. If the situation is dire enough, one will feed themselves and family anything that is available.

That's my take and I am sure it isn't the entire story of poverty in America which is off topic for which I apologize.

Education is free NOW, and what percentage of people use it to escape poverty?
