Should we vaccinate them by force of will, or suffer mankind to live with the disease? If we could have eradicated the disease, and a person recieved polio, is it like an act of war by the third-world countries who refused to be vaccinated? Disease kills more people worldwide than terrorists or the USA combined.
Now,, make a list of diseases which YOU believe should be vaccinated against in the developing world. Malaria maybe? Over a million people die yearly of mosquito borne diseases yearly in the developing world. Another question, do you believe in "3rd world" medicines for developing countries , or woud you prescribe topshelf medicines?
The OP is actually misinformed. I have worked and lived in a developing country for over five years. Each developing country has its own health concerns. Where I live it's malaria and dengue fever,, and liver disease which is one of the major killers of men. Government and non government organisations (mainly foreign) are doing their best to combat these diseases. There are no vaccinations for malaria or dengue fever which have proven successful, and definitely not liver disease (it's a lifestyle thing). With these health problems is more of a case of education than medicine.
The problem is not forcing them to vaccinate - They dont seem to have emotional objection to the process some of out first world inhabitants do. The problem is financing the projects. Both WHO and UNICEF report great challenges in securing donations to pay for the programs they have now.
Money is the problem with many NGOs. WHO for example still advocate "3rd World" medicines for developing countries.
It takes a lot of charity for Bill Gates to vaccinate kids in Africa from HIV, much less the costs to taxpayers vaccinating the entire third world from all the diseases.
Globally, more people die from malnutrition than disease. WHO is adamant malnutrition is the greatest health concern facing the planet.
This video might not be forced vaccination, but still a forced medical procedure on people of a developing country. US Missionaries Forced Sterilisation of Akha woman . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiIopt-fyik Well worth a look.
