Clearly whatever form of mindless fundamentalism is most popular in the US should be banned. Islam's not it though, is it?

 

Yet, they do, and none have been formally excommunicated that I know of. Heck, from my understanding, even Nancy Pelosi hasn't been excommunicated.

In his particular interpretation of the Constitution, freedom of religion is trumped by the Constitution, if he determines that religion is a danger to the Constitution.

Luckily, here in the United States, the Constitution actually protects all of us from religious persecution that the OP suggests.

Regardless of whether anyone approves of Islam or not- it is a religion, recognized by all as a religion, and is protected by the Constitution just as Christianity, Buddhism, Church of Latter Day Saints, Amish, and every minority religion that may be out of favor at any moment.

The very suggestion is un-American.
