Your numbers are taken from a much broader number than the labor force so you are unfairly trying to compare two different sets of numbers. If one guy loses his job, or gets a pay cut, it might mean 4 people go on food stamps. Nonetheless, there is no doubt the recession has been, as they always are, harshest to the poorest.
