Not if you are trying to stop a bear but shot in the right spot it will stop a bad guy or take his mind off his mean streak. There are probably times when you only need to show a gun to get someone's attention or a shot in the right direction will get their attention. Only fools challenge someone who has a gun.

Whether you have to use a gun or not just knowing you have the gun can make you feel safer.

 

My issuing authority considers a .380 to be absolute minimum for concealed carry with an additional warning that it may not be sufficient against a drugged up attacker or during cold weather when the attacker may have heavy clothing on. He is happy to issue for a .380 because he wants good people to carry but recommends 9mm or .38 sp.

 

What type bullet, hollow point, FMJ or soft point? What do you think of the glasser safety slug?

 

Hollow points only for carry. Less risk of pass through possibly hitting a bystander. I've never fired a safety slug but I think they would be good for inside the home.

 

No bad guy wants to get shot, whether it's with a 9 or a 380. Carry the one you're most comfortable with.

 

For sure you can't go wrong with a Barreta, they have been making guns long enough they should have it right by now.

 

Appreciate all the advice. Let ya know what I get. I actually enjoyed the gun show. Interesting how safe one feels in the midst of so many gun toting Americans and tables full of weapons.

The Cowboys in the Super Bowl were probably the last best hope for the hapless fading NFL.

 

I really wanted the Cowboys to win also. At least they played a great game, which is more than I can say for my Hawks.

With the cowboys and the Seahawks out...I can watch the SB without a care. I also need a new Jersey and or sweatshirt...I should probably get a great price on some stuff. lol
