The only time my father threw me was when he was trying to teach me how to swim. He threw me in over my head and said, " Now, dammit, swim out." I think he was tired of giving me lessons.

Same with my mom and the spoon. The reflex was move my hands to catch the swing of the spoon and start laughing. When I got older and my mom put the spoon down and would just talk in a stern voice, I would listen and smile. Then she would laugh and say I don't know where you came from.

I had a friend who got hit a lot as a kid. She thanked her parents one day for being an adult and liking to be spanked. I laughed so hard when she told me.

He was tired of seeing me sink like a rock. I was so afraid that I actually learned to swim with that toss.

Mom used a bolo paddle, with the ball and rubber band removed. All us kids swore she left the staple in for texture. Pleading did you no good, if Mom had to come after you, your butt was going to pay twice the price. Looking back, she was pretty fair about it, you had to have really gone of the rails for her to feel she needed to bring it out. Dad, on the other hand, well, lets just say I think all us kids got it once from him, and we learned where that line was and didn't cross it.

    Ahahah "for texure".
That's the thing. Every one of those lessons may have been hard learned but it was all worth it in the end. I learned actions have consequences and there is no escaping owning it. If you don't want to own a wrong, be right. By todays standards it may sound abusive. But todays standards are made for the today crowd. Im the yesterday crowd now and am cool with it.

After sleeping-off last night's graveyard duties, I slept for 7 hours.

I went to bed without eating nor drinking. Was so exhausted.

Now I'm up and hungry so having this:

    - freshly made beef stroganoff with noodles and vegies

    - grapefruit Fresca to wash it down with.

No booze this time -- gotta go to work in 4 hours.

The pumpkin patch across the street where my cat loves to play and catch things like birds and mice is all orange with pumpkins.

You can tell the Great Pumpkin Festival is near.

You should see the cotton field across the road from my house it is beautiful. The prettiest cotton field ever was in NW Texas, it was absolutely gorgeous. We stopped and the owner of the field came down to talk to us, he said he was surprised his field of cotton did so well. He attributed it to the rain and weather that year. The field was absolutely white with cotton. He probably smiled all the way to the cotton gin and bank. :)

Then you would be wronged. It was Caius Julius Caesar.
And no the infamous Caesar Salad { I like } is attributed to
Caesar Cardini a restaurateur from the early 1900's.
It did not include anchovies.Plus did make the art of
table-tossing a salad almost a ritual in Fine restaurants.
That is for those who occasionally prefer to dine out in
    first class.
Nero was the Last Roman Emperor of that Claudian dynasty.
    Famous Caesar quote being :
" Men willingly believe what they wish " -- " De Bello Gallico "
    You quote is Machiavellian.
I don't suppose you've had the Machiavelli salad.
Where freshly achieved { added } liberty makes enemies
    and no friends.
Known in Hollywood as the Rickles Salad.

Nero was just a JV tyrant.

"We are not concerned here with the ultimate
consequence of rule by terror — namely, that nobody, not even the executors,
can ever be free of fear; in our context we are dealing merely with the arbi-
trariness by which victims are chosen, and for this it is decisive that they
are objectively innocent, that they are chosen regardless of what they may
    or may not have, done."

Apple cider donuts? Don’t reckon I’ve heard of such a thing. Our temporary housing is in an Apple region. I sent my wife out to reconnoiter the area for hard cider season. She makes an awesome sparkling hard cider.

Apple cider donuts come around once a year. We go to a farm that also is a fruit orchard. The place has a small really old wooden store front where you can buy everything they grow. They also have this old cider mill and bake on site. They bake pies, cookies and make apple cider donuts.

This isn't the place. The place we go to is older. Its probably the 3rd or 4th generation of family that runs it now.
