The IRS rates are more accurate than the Forbes rates.

And the IRS format is more complete than the Forbes discussion.

Oh no, you mean I'm not really getting $5,000 back on my taxes this year? ;)

I always err to the 'I owe them' side of the tax game. Last year, I ended up getting back some money, likely do to the increase in my health insurance premiums I hadn't adjusted for. I'm trying to stay on top of it this year. Only what I owe, no more, no less.

    What a coincidence!
I once knew a woman who stapled chicken livers to the curtains.
I think she was in some cult or something and she couldn't sew.

Nope, not Gypzy. She gave up politics and retreated back into her shell. ;)

I think the only person here who would know Kelly is Foolie... and who knows what he knows. ;) ;)

Yep I wish she would come back. She told me a lot about sempervivums and now I need to ask her some more questions... No, Gypzy in sight. She was also a whiz on middle east politics.

I always try to break even on income taxes by only paying-in what I need to and no more nor less.

After I finish my own tax returns (Fed and State) on extension I then put together an X/L spreadsheet forecasting the coming/current year based on the return forms from the past. So that's why I pay-in the balance with a 1040-ES voucher, in the present case #3 due Sept 15th.

Then hopefully by April 15th I am all paid up.

I'll recalculate everything around December 15th and make a final payment then if need be.

This year -- 2018 -- everything changes radically because the rates changed and the exemption-deductions are gone and the standard deduction increased. All this affects me directly.

I have not yet run the calculation as to whether the Trump/GOP changes has benefitted me or not. I'll run it next chance I get.

Right now I am cleaning my bathroom and kitchen. I do this about twice a year whether it needs it or not. Takes a long time.

Then the living room and bedroom are next. :D

The bathroom and kitchen twice a year? That's a bit much, it should only need it once a year with a high-pressure hose. ;)

I'm salaried, so there isn't that much fluctuation in my income, other than raises. More than once, it's kicked me up a tax bracket, and I need to adjust. I agree, it should be interesting to see where the new tax calculations put me - I pay in weekly, so all I have to do is do a one time extra hit to balance any major differences.

You will miss the day that the deadliest hurricane in US history hit Galveston. The horrendous day was September 8, 1900 it was a category 4 storm , and it completely devastated Galveston.

I Think you will be safe no storms in sight. Hope you have a fabulous vacation and a Happy Birthday early.

Good morning earthlings. Big decision today. Renew Sirius or let it go? Maybe I'll flip a coin.

May have to watch the Great Storm slideshow again while Im there. The museum does an awesome with sound effects, the roar of the wind is deafening. Can only imagine how scary that time was in 1900.

I wish I had a floor drain so I could use a high pressure hose in the bathroom, as it were.

As it is, I must use a mop and bucket.
