Being a sophisticated redneck who knows a good idea when he sees it I can't help but agree with you.

Speaking of which, I know a wonderful lady from Bulgaria who makes a plum moonshine you would not believe. It's so good you can't help but take more than one shot and then the next thing you know you're waking up the following day face-down in a puddle of drool. While that's not terribly sophisticated, I will say it would be magnificent if Nabisco made a Plum Moonshine Oreo.

Hmm...now that I think about it, a Rumple MInze Oreo wouldn't be bad, either...

They would sell better if they were illegal, spiked to the max, and marketed just like moonshine.
    Pay attention Nabisco! :)

I made a few moon landings back in my late teens and early twenties but my astronaut days are long behind me. I can't handle the g-forces anymore...

I just saw a video on a site that takes a rose stalk that is
cut diagonally from the beneath the stem and stuck into a
potato. You make a small hole in the potato and stick the foot or so
rose stalk into the potato. Then put in pot { planter } and fill with
potting soil { topsoil } and cover with a cut off plastic water bottle
over the exposed stalk. Then water. It is supposed to make for a
Rose bush.I wish I knew this a 2 month ago when I had a crazy number
of perennial roses off my Rose bush that grows like crazy every year.

    Good afternoon, folks!

It's a balmy 90 degrees here in Virginia and we're just startin' to turn up the thermostat. On Saturday the high is supposed to reach 100 degrees - I can't remember the last time we had a summer this hot for this long. A cabin on a lake in the UP is sounding mighty good about now...

Where the egomania ends nobody knows.

What gets this Chicago native is that he's not even from the Windy City, and after he left office he didn't move back - he chose to stay in DC.

I happened to be thinking about this last night and I couldn't help but wonder why he doesn't locate his library in Southside where it would serve as an inspiration to the people and community where he once lived. But, you know, that would make things about them and not him, so...

Near record Heatwave expected for this weekend in the Northeast.
That was what caused the 1977 N.Y.city historic blackout.

Gawd, I remember that - and it happened in mid-July, too.

Looks like their preparing for more this weekend:

NY, DC, Chicago Prepare for Blackouts Due to Heat Wave
    https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/blackouts-heatwave-new-york-city-chicago/2019/07/17/id/924817/

There's nothing's worse than living in a city and losing power in the middle of a heat wave. That happened to us after Hurricane Isabel in 2003 and it was the worst. After a few days some people start turning into animals...

Peaches should be the Official Fruit of Summer.

I don't know how some people deal with this heat. I've lived in Virginia nearly my entire life and I can't handle it, but my wife from Mississippi can run around in 100 degree weather all day long. I'm beginning to think that people from the Deep South are born with Prestone in their veins.

Wonder if union labor will get to build the thing?

We have to stop this - to close to politics in the bar. Smarty may be recuperating, but she still keeps a baseball bat behind the bar. ;-)

She's a Texan. It's not the baseball bat you need to keep an eye on...;-)
