That is a perfect example of throwing away a treasure. I don't think people realize the love they just toss out an unwanted animal. We have taken in so many throw aways that adopt us or we pick up. We found a little dog that someone had shot with a pellet gun and discarded him by a little creek. We took him to the vet. got him all patched up and he was a fantastic dog. We named him Moses.(because of the creek)

    • IMG_20220730_181921.jpg This is some candy stripe moss phlox clones. Lost a few because I started a little early but they should spread over the entire area. I have started and set out hundreds and hundreds of clones. Most are pink , some are red, and some candy stripe. After this year it should all blend together and be a cinch to maintain. Also planted some bulbs in the mix. Hopefully, it will turn out. All my clones.....

A rather large moth I just photographed at work. Other than it being a moth I have no idea of the species. Any resident entomologist here?

Butterflies are for you day shift people.... Us third shift people have to settle for moths :)

    IT CAME HOME!!
2-1 against Germany who usually win the Euros
Really good game, England scored, then Germany equalised and England knocked in the winner in the second half of extra time.
First time England won an international men or women, in 56 years and at least France lost to the winners in the quarter finals (I think).
    Sweet Caroline!

PLEASE PLEASE do not get a BC from a working background
It will be forever frustrated that it cant do what its gènes tell it to do.
Those who need and use BC"s to work are very aware of continuing and improving their working ability. When I bred them and worked them I never sold one as a pet..
And now I don't need one and miss having one, it is hard not to look for one. But it wouldn't be fair to the dog.

I was one year old last time an England team won a major championship in football.
The Lionesses played 6, won 6, goals for 22, goals against 2.

Skinner and Baddiel's prediction came true and it only took 26 more years of hurt. Never stop your dreaming.

France lost to Germany in the semi final IIRC.

I am a cat person, but there has been some discussion in my house about adding a dog. While I'm sure a border collie would enjoy recreation herding since one neighbor has Highland cattle, the other has horses, and we have multiple herds of dear, I would likely start with a pup.

Some of the moths are more beautiful and unique then the butterflies. I have no clue on the species, but it is a nice specimen!

As long as it has something to herd and someone who knows how to train it properly, you will never regret your décision.

I don't have a herd but my border collie is great. He has enough to do without a herd. He keeps the egrets and buzzards out of the hay field.

They have been used to keep birds off airport runways.
Even they know not to try to gather and return them!

    Amazing aren’t they?
UNF hired them to keep geese off the campus. The owner of the dog said it was the eye that scared the geese.
The amount of words that my dog understands is testament to his brilliance.
His perception is also amazing. Let’s just face it he is amazing.
One thing I will say is they take a lot of patience. They need to stay busy learning. They are eager to learn.

They also make very good search and rescue dogs partly because they have been bred to work in very difficult terrain, searching out single lost animals.

I suggest BC’s that can’t work for mental or physical reasons for pets. The bell curve applies to BC’s as well. Yes the vast majority would not fit well in the vast majority of pet homes. But there are certainly exceptions.

I currently have a young male who was becoming our top worker until stricken with an undiagnosable neurological ailment that prevents him from working. He would be very happy in many pet home situations.

Yay! I harvested our first Blue Doll pumpkin yesterday - it weighed in at 22 pounds.

    1ST BLUE DOLL 2022.JPG

That's what I like to call pumpkin pie on the hoof.

My lovely wife makes a pumpkin pie with a streusel topping that is to die for. :hungry: I'll make a savory pumpkin and sage sausage stew with the leftovers that don't wind up as pie....

Went to my local western wear store to see if they had any boots that might be suitable for a motorcycle that you could actually wear to work in as well.... Not much there for that but..... I did support my local economy and purchase this.

You people that moved here to Florida? Don't put nothing like this on your vehicle because you don't qualify.
