What exactly would take Germany, a nation that builds nuclear reactors, batteries and lands spacecrafts on comets a year to take a 9kg sample of our several hundred ton Plutonium stockpile, put TNT around it, a Cobalt sphere around it and maybe even add Tritium to make it a hydrogen bomb?

Do you honestly believe a nation like Germany or Japan would need a year to build some primitive weapon like a nuclear bomb?

It would take a few hours in case of emergency to have one ready.

You can’t make something brand new in just a few hours. I bet you wouldn’t even be able to make scissors from scratch in a few hours.

You’d need a plant, retool it, separate safe area for handling highly radioactive materials (cuz you do want to workers to survive long enough to finish building the bomb and pass down learned skills to someone else), then you are forgetting about important components - who’s designing and building semiconductors processors and circuit boards? How about bomb casing? Do you want to mount it on a missile? If so then you need casing with appropriate form factor and you need to worry about miniaturization.

Good luck building it in a few hours! It’s will take months to get all of that going.
