Last time I checked... a majority of Jews keep voting in governments that got this ethnic cleansing policy. One after the other, after the other after the other.... while the about all join the IDF to take part in the war crimes. Safe to say, the Israeli Jews opposing this is a neglectable small percentage.

    According to wikipedia:
The final 1949 UNRWA estimate of the refugee count was 726,000. / By June 1951, the UNWRA had reduced the number of registered refugees to 876,000 after "many false and duplicate registrations [were] weeded out.

    So almost 900.000 it is.

A report from the military intelligence SHAI of the Haganah entitled "The emigration of Palestinian Arabs in the period 1/12/1947-1/6/1948," dated 30 June 1948, affirms that:
This leads to a figure of 73% for departures caused directly by the Israelis. In addition, the report attributes 22% of the departures to "fears" and "a crisis of confidence" affecting the Palestinian population. As for Arab calls for flight, these were reckoned to be significant in only 5% of cases

So the Jew is by predominantly responsible through it's ethnic cleansing and violent ways.

And how about you stick to facts and not loose that indoctrinated train of though. lol

Since you've obviously become very familiar with the Mid East, the Zionist Colony & dealing with its paid & trained State supported Hasbara apologists in particular, I wasn't surprised to see you point out one of their primary tactics: "obscures" / to obscure Zionist criminality & Ethnic Cleansing via obfuscation.
Another primary tactic I frequently encounter are Off Topic attempts to waste your time on already addressed, Off-Topic issues.

I think it's important to point out that, at least in my experience, there are many Israeli & non Israeli Jews who are also repulsed by atrocities committed by the Israeli Government & disgusted with its network of shameless Hasbara apologists for some of the most heinous atrocities in modern history like the Israeli Governments deployment of horrific sterilizing, Chemical, Genotoxic, D.U., N.D.U. ordinance & D.I.M.E. bombs that are intended to kill not only existing survivors of Plan Dalet / Nakba but to induce terminal disorders in future Generations.

"Singling out Israel" / Condemning Israeli Ethnic Cleansing, is not a Jew vs non Jew issue as many Hasbarists have been trained to treat it but, like enmity toward Americans for America's fatally flawed AIPAC directed Policies, hostility toward Jews around the world is also a reflection of understandable, global anti Israeli enmity.

In spite of Zionist domination of Major Media, the facts & Images of Zionist brutality & Ethnic Cleansing freely circulate the globe today.

The Israeli governments reaction was not to cease its murderous barbarity but to establish an extensive Propaganda network second to none in the world.

The Israeli government bolstered its Propaganda / Hasbara “Industry” essentially began after it was routed by Hezbollah. Unable to defeat Hezbollah, IDF began massacring S. Lebanon’s civilians out of revenge:

“IDF commander: We fired more than a million cluster bombs in Lebanon”
“Phosphorous and cluster bombs heavily used; unexploded munitions litter wide area of Lebanon.”
    http://www.haaretz.com/news/idf-com...n-a-million-cluster-bombs-in-lebanon-1.197099

EXCERPT "What we did was insane and monstrous, we covered entire towns in cluster bombs," the head of an IDF rocket unit in Lebanon said regarding the use of cluster bombs and phosphorous shells during the war.

Quoting his battalion commander, the rocket unit head stated that the IDF fired around 1,800 cluster bombs, containing over 1.2 million cluster bomblets.

In addition, soldiers in IDF artillery units testified that the army used phosphorous shells during the war, widely forbidden by international law.

According to their claims, the vast majority of said explosive ordinance was fired in the final 10 days of the war.”CONTINUED

After what the world saw of so many mutilated, burned & dismembered Lebanese civilians at the hands of cowardly IDF Thugs, the Israeli Government realized how badly it needed a significant propaganda Industry & “jump-started" Hasbara:
. EXCERPT “ Israel created the National Information Directorate within the Prime Minister’s office after the 2006 conflict with Lebanon, known as the Second Lebanon War or 2006 Israel–Hezbollah War and known in Lebanon as the July War.(*) While many believe the war resulted in an Israeli tactical victory, the outcome of the war was a strategic loss, Israel lost the war of ideas.”[1]

Hence, Israel’s $Multi Million ($Billion?) network was born with its thousands of paid, scripted, trained & state supported “Hasbarats” that infest the US & other countries around the world:

EXCERPT “ There is discontent within Israel, however, with calls for the Foreign Ministry‘s office to control all Public Relations messages, here.
There are three bodies within Israel who promulgate media events: a military spokesperson, the National Information Directorate and the Ministry for Hasbara and Diaspora Affairs.(*) Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman claims his office has more expertise and can release messages faster than other bodies within the Israeli government.”CONTINUED [1]

While there are several individual Posters who are simply professionally deceived victims of a Zionist dominated, Major Media, it’s important for all individuals participating in Mid East Forums etc to realize they are very likely “debating” with a trained, paid, full time Hasbara Troll in a “Hasbara War Room”.

Mid East students &enthusiasts should also know that Israel’s network of Hasbara propagandists have effectively infected Wikipedia [2] & skewed polls while, additionally, communicating via their “Megaphone Software[3]

If you happen to be among those people who object to Ethnic Cleansing anywhere & of any people, & especially object to the obscenity of perpetuating the world’s most heavily foreign funded Ethnic Cleansing State with America’s blood & $ Trillions you are among the world’s vast majority.

While the AIPAC dominated US government is the world’s worst enabler of Zionist Ethnic Cleansing, Expansionism & War Crimes, it is incumbent for all ethical, loyal & decent Americans to promote an even handed Mid East Policy that rewards & opposes all Regimes based in their actions.

A fair & equitable Mid East policy is in the best long term interests of all Mid East.

In confronting apologists for universally destructive, Israeli Ethnic Cleansing, Regional hegemony,, Settlement Expansionism etc you are certain to encounter what some refer to as “Hasbara Trolls” as well as professionally deceived, well intentioned yet poorly informed apologists for Zionist Ethnic Cleansing.

To best recognize the difference, you may find the following “Guide” helpful:

    “A guide to Hasbara trolls”
    http://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/jonathon-blakeley-a-guide-to-hasbara-trolls.html

Regarding “Singling out Israel”, I can think of no other country that has such an extensive, costly, sophisticated Propaganda Industry......

    ....or so badly needs one.

You are lavish with your pejorative...
It seems to me that the number of Arabs that left had registered with UNRWA to be able to benefit from food and other donation.
It seems to me that those that left had no connection with the Land otherwise they would have remained with the rest of Arabs with legal papers that would eventually make them safe.
Ask yourself why all but a fraction accepted the orders of the Arab League to temporary vacate and the others remained and carried on with their daily activities?
Something seems to be wrong from the very beginning!

Strange you should think that since you often refer to Arabs in the most derogatory of terms and claim that Judea-Samaria and now the Golan are clear and unquestionably Jewish.
Yes, strange that refugees fleeing should want food!
It seems to me that they had connection to the land, otherwise why did Israel create the term "present absentee" for those 1in4 Arabs that REMAINED IN ISRAEL so that they government could confiscate their land. But I am sure the term "present absentee" makes sense to you. Perhaps you could explain it?
80% fled, the massacre's carried out by the Jews before and during the war helped, but I expect they fled for the same reason most people do in war, they are (*)(*)(*)(*) scared!
Certainly does, what seems wrong from the beginning is why some Europeans thought they had more right to live in the Middle East than the people already living there did. Seems wrong that some people thought that because their ancestors had lived there 2000 years ago it gave them the right to take what they wanted. Seems strange from the beginning that some people believe that a sky fairy had given them land.

As the latest responses show Israel is singled out because Muslims brought up on a diet of dhimmitude and Muslim prejudice that teaches them nonMuslims are inferior and can't possibly have the same rights as Muslims including state citizenship eats away at the stomachs of certain Muslim extremists who can not swallow Jews being equal to Muslims.

So they flock to this forum like others trying to undo history, deny they lost a war to wipe out the Jews of the Middle East and spin little tales at how they will one day take back the land from the damn Jews.

The difference being of course Bendor and I don't hide our being Jews or defending our people but you won't find one of these Muslim arm chair warriors admit their Muslim identity, pro dhimmitude extremism. What you get are armchair warriors hiding behind anglo sounding names and pretending to be anything but Muslim.

No! It is Israel's behavior and it seems to be exacerbated by your ilks behavior and postings in forums like this. I am Jewish as well, and from my heart, you do more to bring hatred upon Jews than you even realize.

Yes we know, Israel is singled out because everyone is antisemitic, all the posters are really secret muslim radicals, those anglo sounding names are all a cover, we are all really called Mustava dabofthis or his brother Mustavanother Dabofthis As I type this I am really riding my camel called youbastard along the beach in Newquay Cornwall beheading scantily clad ladies because they are not wearing a burka! I was forced to convert to Islam when the dhimmitude imposed by the less than one percent of people who are Muslims in Cornwall got too much for me!

The only problem with your post is that, no one has claimed that the Muslims didn't lose the war in 1948, except for possibly Drew who still thinks the war is continuing! No one has claimed Jews should not have equal rights with Muslims in this thread, and Jews have full state citizenship of the UK.

Oh by the way anytime you want to take me up on my challenge to prove our identities to a moderator feel free!

Oh and I nearly forgot Dhimmitude is a bit of a conspiracy theory, penned by a Jewish author in the late 80's.

I think HBendor meant that a number of non-Palestinian Arabs registered with UNRWA as Palestinians to receive aid. This is a well known issue. Or maybe he meant that a number of Palestinian Arabs fled Palestine in order to receive aid from UNRWA. Or both.

Why don't you ever mention the Absentees' Property (Compensation) Law, I wonder. It is, after all, a basic Israeli law, a must know for a self-claimed distinguished connoisseur of Israeli society ins and outs.

You have yet to present a credible source for your "1 in 4" assertion.

I could post a list of all the massacres carried out by Arabs - in Jaffa, Jerusalem, Hebron, Gaza, Silwan - before the war. I could also remind you that, in the eyes of the military challenged and unchallenged alike, the small rag-bag of an army that was IDF at its beginnings wasn't exactly the favorite in the race for Palestine, what with the American embargo on weapons and all. Oddly enough, Jews didn't behave like RiaRaeb's "most people". They didn't flee. They stayed and prospered. Will the frightful thought that maybe, just maybe, Jews' ties to the land of Palestine always were much stronger than Arabs', be able to penetrate your anti-Zionist shield for a tiny sliver of a fraction of a second? That is the question 6273.gif

Seems even stranger that you ignore four important facts (well, maybe not that strange, it's a fashion trend among anti-Zionists to ignore facts that contradict their narrative):

    1. There has always been a Jewish presence in Palestine.

    2. The majority of Jews in Palestine, and later Israel, were Oriental, not Europeans (until the late '70, if I remember correctly).

    3. Jews are Jews, wherever they live. Do you think that the grandchildren of the Syrian refugees should not be given the right to return to Syria, because they'll be Europeans by birth? Do you think that German Turks do not belong to the Turk people but are pure Europeans instead? And finally, do you think that there's an absolute immutable rule to establish which people belong where? (if you do, that's dangerously close to the "believe that a sky fairy had given" refrain).

    4. Some Zionists are atheists, some secular, some religious. Zionism is not a religious movement, but a nationalistic one.

So what were the numbers and where is the source to back up your claim?

You miss the point, why were the Arabs not just allowed back to their land?

I see, so if you really really want it more than someone else you should have it! That is the basis by which you defend ethnic cleansing. The Arabs did not want it enough. You must admire suicide bombers and terrorists prepared to die for something they really really want!

I don' t ignore it at all, where have I suggested Jews did not have a presence in Palestine, 13% in 1920.

No I don't think that there is an absolute immutable law, but Bendor does that is why I disagreed with him. Where your grandparents lived is a little different to where your ancestors lived 2000 years ago.
Which is why I wrote some people! Zionism has many different forms, religious Zionism being part of the movement. Do you agree that the idea that God gave Israel to the Jews is silly?

Sir Raphael Cilento's figure for Palestinian refugees in 1948 was 330,000, both Arab and Jewish. The Israeli figure is higher - almost 600,000 Arab refugees.

You have to study an impressive number of UN documents and cross reference them to the population estimates for mandatory Palestine, to understand the complexity of the refugees issue. It's easier to throw a number you found on Mondoweiss, but is it the right thing to do?

To answer your question: I can't give you numbers, only estimates, and I certainly can't give you a reliable source.

What I wrote in my post is not my claim. It's what I thought HBendor meant. Some believe that poor Arabs from Egypt, Syria and Lebanon registered themselves as Palestinian refugees to receive aid from UNRWA, Though this claim seems to explain the high numbers of Arab refugees paraded by Mondoweiss and the likes, proving it is next to impossible. We'll probably never know.

As far as I know, there are only two villages on the Lebanese border whose inhabitants were not allowed to return to their homes, even though there is a Supreme Court ruling in their favor. I must admit I don't know much on the subject. I'll keep digging.

Will you please stop acting like both a judge and a hangman? I'm not on trial here, and throwing baseless accusations at me won't improve the quality of our dialogue.

It's not a matter of "want", rather a matter of perception. We Jews view Palestine, and only Palestine, as hour national home (which part of Palestine exactly, depends on the individual point of view, but you get the general idea). Arab perception on national home was probably different, what with the pan-Arab nationalism prevalent at the time. Ask yourself what would have been the fate of Palestine, had the Arabs won the war against Israel.

Suicide bombers and terrorists don't die for something they really want, rather for something other people really want. They take the shortest way to heaven, building for themselves stairways to Paradise from our dead bodies, and for their handlers stairways to very worldly power. They're being used and abused. Yet, strangely, no self proclaimed pro-Palestinian ever condemned those who brainwash their young into believing that violent death is the way to redemption.

If you believe, even for a second, that suicide bombers and their handlers are all about the beloved land of Palestine, you are mistaken. There's nothing you can do for what you love if you're dead. To achieve something, you have to live, to struggle, to cry and laugh and bite your tongue and start over. The suicide terrorists method is not striving to achieve anything, only to destroy what is deemed unacceptable. If Palestinian Arabs (their leadership) were serious about having their own country alongside the Jewish state, they would be building and developing the hell out of their two autonomous regions, like Jews did during Mandate Palestine.

    History didn't begin in 1920.

As I already mentioned, there was always a Jewish presence in Palestine, so you'll have to rephrase that: "Where your grandparents lived is a little different to where your people lived for more than 2000 years".

Your question has no simple answer.

While I'm an atheist myself, I don't think that other people's beliefs should be dismissed. Discuss them, yes, argue against them, yes, but labeling all religious beliefs as silly is akin to pressing "delete" on tens of thousands of years of human spirituality. It seems a bit extreme to me.

I'll just say that I don't believe in any god, so the idea that a god gave anything to anyone has no place in my worldview.

It became 'fashionable' on the 'New Left' in the 1960's. It's it's all about fashion for them, not substance, and it makes a great cover for obnoxious bigots and pseudo-intellectuals to attack the West in general; it's the same 'logic' sociopaths and morons use to attack anything. For example, in the 1980's Jerry Falwell said stuff about homosexuals, therefore they have decided based on that that they must support that particular mental disorder as desirable, i.e. just knee-jerk reactionary nonsense. The same with Israel; when LBJ stepped in to back Israel after France bailed out, the Soviet run western European 'New Leftists' suddenly changed to demonizing Israel, because America is evul, you know ... they're just parrots and fools, and especially in Europe the Marxist-Maoist faux 'Left' has always been almost as antisemitic as the far Right; they just dress it up in different rhetoric and hubris, that's all.

    http://www.jcpa.org/phas/phas-32.htm

Being Leftist and Anti-Semitic in Germany
    Susanne Urban

After the reunification of Germany, 1989 surveys indicated that there was much more anti-Semitism in West Germany than in East Germany. This was a fallacy arising from the distinction between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. Since then, Eastern German "anti-Zionism" has merged with Western German "anti-Semitism" into a homogeneous whole.

Since 2000, the German Left has voiced its solidarity and support for the Palestinians and for suicide bombers. This is an extension of the New Left anti-Zionism of the 1960s, with the same structural motifs and expressions.

There is also a major trend in the German Left of Nazifying and demonizing Israel, opening the door to proclaiming Jews to be the source of the world's evils.

In October 2004, the Dutch writer and filmmaker Leon de Winter said in an interview to the German liberal newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung: "The old poison of anti-Semitism is very much alive.... I will remain a stranger on this continent.... I fear that in Europe something will once more be done against the Jews."1

    ...

    Student Radicalization

During the Six Day War, the New Left definitively transformed its hitherto moderate pro-Arab positions into full support for Arab states and the Palestinians, and its fragile pro-Israeli attitudes dissolved into anti-Semitic slogans thinly disguised as "anti-imperialist" criticism of a "fascist state."

After 1967, however, not only the radicals but large parts of the German Left turned their backs on Israel. This went hand in hand with protests against the Vietnam War, against the conservative mainstream in Adenauer's Germany and afterward the "Great Coalition" that was headed from 1966 by Chancellor Kurt Georg Kiesinger, a former member of the Nazi Party.6 The New Left also idealized Communist China and Ho Chi Minh, despite their involvement in mass murder against their own people.7

Well-known intellectuals who were more moderate leftists tried to dissuade the New Left from its extreme positions. Ernst Bloch, Jean Amery, Herbert Marcuse, Iring Fetscher, and Jean-Paul Sartre argued with the radicals and discouraged blind solidarity with the PLO, as opposed to legitimate criticism of Israeli policies. They warned that notions of Israel's annihilation were intolerable and linked to National Socialist ideology. However, they were not heeded by the radicals.8

They are just narcissistic egotistical vermin who have zero interest in who they get killed, as long as it's fashionable. Reality means nothing to them, as they assume they will never have to personally suffer from their own idiocy, so no worries for them. This is typical in many affluent western countries, notably the imbecilic Burb Brats in the U.S. who infest academia, and not just re Israel, but pretty much everything they worship with cult-like mantras, right-wing or left-wing. 'Libertarians' and 'progressives' are generally distinctions without a difference, as they both have little in the way of principles and morals, they only value mindless self-indulgence and themselves. These days it's the British press that is the most virulently antisemitic, ironically, not Germany's.

I guess we can at least be thankful they've never seen a Nazi math textbook, or they would be shrieking about how mathematics must be banned from schools, such is the 'reasoning' typically used by the frauds for determining the 'causes' they adopt.

My reason for singling out the Jews/Israelis is they are as barbaric as the Muslims but they are carrying out their atrocities while attaching themselves to me as my friend. I don't appreciate it.
