Maybe if the “rest of us” weren’t so infatuated with Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and the rest of the fake news social media garbage out there then the “rest of us” would have known nearly four weeks prior to the Senators luncheon.

I can take criticism, and responsibility, and admit when I am wrong. Yes, I can.

Have any links on who in the MSM wants dead?

Other than the Republicans, I mean? According to then, trying to mitigate the death toll is a bad thing to do!

The media's job is not supplying us with the truth. The objective of the media is to scare you into buying stuff. Thank Edward Bernays! :)

If one's versed in economics and sees the financial damage about to unfold, I can play both scenarios side by side. In the one case where we allow people to work as normal and the economy, a good deal of people will yes be sick. I imagine there might be some business suspensions but overall, the economic system comes out with minimal damage.

In our present case, we have a suspended economy and an inflationary stimulus. You tell me, which one you'd rather be?

I suspect that time will show that America is not reacting strongly enough.

the economy was ready to crash before this pandemic, this was just the straw that broke the camels back

the fed should have raised rates when economy was good, so they could lower it now.. now that tool is not avail

inflation hurts those that have lots of money, helps people in debt - we just need to make sure to raise the min wage as it's way behind - income inequality causes inflation

republicans told us all this trickle down economics since Bush woudl save us, how wrong they were - time for trickle up

I'm on a belief that trickle up occurs naturally if productivity(meaning job creation and hiring) is stimulated. All government taxes do is more money...for uncle sam. Not for us, not for the rich. Not for anyone but the US Government wit large. People don't understand that about taxes, you or I don't benefit from them.

Governments use taxes of course, to fuel public sector programs(Ideally that is...the waste review people show us a lot of governmental spending waste.) If government cost less, that would be more money for people to invest, consume and buy. We need government to become a lot more efficient.

And for the people to become more efficient as well. Hence why I said if we have a 90/10 split(90% of workers/10% of Entrepreneurs). I want a 60/40 split. 60% Entrepreneurs/40% of workers.

If the average joe can become an owner of industry or a business of value(big or small, it doesn't matter.) that would drastically improve income and thus improve consumer spending. If more jobs are created, more hiring opportunities are available for the younger generations.

Right now, with everyone working for the 10%, it's created our situation. And no tax lever(up or down) is going to fix that mess.

Actually we don't know for sure if the Spanish Flu originated in Kansas. It is entirely possible it originated in World War 1 Europe and was transferred to Kansas by doctors who had been in Europe.

I think we are overreacting, but I seem to find myself mostly alone in that. The current hysteria seems to be bipartisan, so it's not just politics. So while many are predicting millions dead in the US from this virus I would be surprised if we approach H1N1 numbers, and we shut down nothing for that.

I'll know if I'm right or wrong in a few months.

Then it deserves protection against only the government itself and no one else for its near infinite lies and damage... like any fraud or con artist.

That is nowhere the case and hasn't been for a very long time.

To the topic, of course it is overreaction, the apotheosis of the childlike, effeminate, irrational gynostate in full bloom for all to see. Will get worse before better, but garbage like this and all the other whimsical fallacies of gynoculture are becoming gradually threadbare... just a little... finally. It's about time.

The media prey on human tragedy...always have...always will...
Their reasoning is that we "have the responsibility to tell the people....etc etc.."
They will always sensationalize, dramatize, create controversy where there is none...
Create hysteria just to emphasize and rinse and repeat....
    Same old...same old...
Its laughable in Australia where the media often tout themselves as the
source of the truth...they tout their reliability..their track record...their honesty...
    Blah blah blah...
They are the scum of the earth...one rung below politicians, used car salesmen and
real estate salesmen...….two dollar whores as Frank Sinatra called them.....

You don't pay off the deficit; you pay off the national debt. The deficit is the amount of money that is borrowed to cover the shortfall in tax revenue each year. You "pay off" the deficit when the tax revenue is sufficient to cover government expenses for the year. That is a balance budget. The deficits will never be eliminated because people and institutions invest their spare money in buying the securities so that they can get a guaranteed rate of return on a safe investment. Our financial system is based on that.

some of the media, the other

Corona is like catnip to the media.
They get to: 1) fill air time, and 2) Praise Trump (no matter how good Trump does).

when people have money to spend, jobs are created to get that money

when you give the money to the top, they already have the money, no reason to create jobs

I'm not advocating giving money to the top. I'm advocating for the people at large mass(the middle class) to become the owners of property and production, to enjoy higher earnings themselves and to properly balance out the equilibrium.

Ownership is irrelevant. What matters is the ideology of the reporters and editors in the newsroom.
