Look at the data, over 50% of all murders in this country are committed by 13% of the population, show me another developed country that has a similar demographic. You can't go playing the game of how the US has a problem then ignore part of the problem then run away from it and play the race card like some coward. Its sad, you know the data is against you and you reply with some idiotic emotional based tripe...
Where do you live Jay? I'm not trying to be nosey, just curious. Where somebody lives could affect their choice to carry or not.
I live out in the country. On the garden tractor I carry a .410 for rattlers and cottonmouths in one scabbard and an old bolt-action rifle on the left fender for wild hogs or that very rare shot at a coyote or fox. A long gun isn't much good going into a city. At church I carry a neck lanyard knife, an old quickened Buck 110 folding knife, and a revolver. Depending where I am going in a city I'll choose an array of weapons, never a firearm in a government building or airport. I never fly since I retired.
Now I know you're crazy. Read the article again and then tell me with a straight face that guns are the real problem. Rich
Firearm violence is a symptom of a problem and problems are never cured by treating the symptoms, as such everything the anti-gunners stand for is based on false assumptions and ignorance of the actual problems. We have some very serious violent crime problems in this country and it is only going to get worse and part of making that problem worse is actually caused by the anti-gun movement and they should be held responsible for their actions.
Perp robs a bank, convenience store, a person or persons, mass shoots, carjacks with a gun or participates in a driveby shooting keep them locked up for life, automatic no questions asked.
That would be a good start, however the anti-gunners will chime in and complain that it costs too much money to do so, which just proves they the anti's are the criminals best friend and lobby.
You mean Republicans. The GOP has complete control over several states. Why arent they doing this? Why hasnt trump brought it up?
The OP is under no legal or moral requirement to retreat, the onus is on the instigator to not escalate the situation. Retreating could in fact be seen as a sign of weakness or surrendering and provoke the instigator to escalate the situation into something violent.
You may think that is cute, but in reality you just come off as a person who lacks the depth to be able to hold on a conversation consisting of more than a few words.
Just FYI, theres a few folks around here who have taken it upon themselves to ensure that every gun control thread ends with an anti-gun comment. Whether its an intellectual or salient one doesnt seem to matter at all, so long as the reader is clear that they hate common folk having guns.
Quite true and it creates a very negative reflection of those who do it. It has to be an odd way to live knowing the only way one can get attention is by being annoying. For lack of a better term, a human version of a gnat. I also wonder if they hate common folk owning firearms or if they hate common folks in general simply because no matter how they try, they are never accepted as being one.
Not at all. There is no requirement for me to leave, and this guy would follow me no matter where I went. Drug addicts, ok ? I was in a McDonald's, and lots of witnesses are a good thing. Cameras too.
That is STUPID advice. Leave a PUBLIC AREA, with witnesses and cameras where I have corroborating evidence of my being attacked or harangue, and get attacked in a desolate area with ZERO PROOF in my favor. Exceedingly STUPID advice.
Afraid ? Do you even know me ? Do you know anything about me at all ? Afraid has nothing to do with it. Drug addicts insisted I was talking about them, in fact, I was speaking Spanish to a friend of mine and was not talking about anyone at all in a PUBLIC PLACE, with cameras and witnesses, why would I leave a safe place and have someone follow me somewhere there are no witnesses ? Why do you insist I am afraid of something ?
You called 911 because you weren't afraid something might happen? Odd. And you didn't dare take the 911 operators advice because you weren't concerned? Hmmm.
Afraid of what ? A paranoid biracial couple of drug addicts that insist everyone is either against them, talking about them or some such crazy ideas, the female in question hit her elderly father, a friend of mine with a hammer. For some reason you are somewhat confused. I should leave a public place with cameras and witnesses so a pair of drug addicts can follow me where there are no cameras or witnesses, so it looks as if I lured them into a situation and killed them. Yeah, very smart.
Yet you were so unconcerned you called 911? So unafraid you didn't dare leave the safety of a public place? Have you tried meditation?
