Actually, no, I reject those assertions because of a strong mistrust of Christian dishonesty, and that those claims have no proof other than quote wars. To the best of my knowledge, no Christians has ever produced Biblical evidence to show that the Constitution is supported by scripture.

And many of the Constitutional principles of rights are completely anathema to Biblical principles. Free speech, for example, is completely anathema. Many Christians forbid you from ever criticizing Jesus or God in any way, calling both a blasphemy and disrespect, with the underlying expectation is that you may not disrespect God in any way.

If you want an example from popular media, look at Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade where his father slaps him for Blasphemy.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as rights or liberty in a religion that demands complete and completely blind obedience and faith to God.

When you have individual rights, and the freedom and liberty to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, then that means you can make your own decisions. individual decisions, individual reason and logic, takes some people away from God, through a desire to live their own lives.

    Many Christians can't have that.

And much of this claim is actually after the fact.

Here is an article you might want to read from Forbes.

Of course you reject the truth because you are bigoted toward Christians. I understand that but your bigotry doesn't change facts no matter how bad you want it. It is typical for lefties to reject Christianity and you are only adopting the same willful ignorance. Christianity has produced much more good than any other religion or ideology. Saying "Christians are evil" is extremely bigoted.

Yes i am very bigoted and hostile towards Christians, but it doesn't exist in a vacuum. Calling me a bigot is derailing the conversation, and making it personal, and i have not personally attacked you.

I am also just as hostile towards liberals and conservatives.

But if you want facts, then why do you ignore the Treaty of Reipoli in which Jefferson states that America is in no way founded on the principles of Christianity?

You are just as bigoted if you ignore this fact.

    Addendum to my previous post:

Oh, i do promise you one thing though, despite what my bigotry may be, I believe in giving credit where credit was due.

But I just can't believe the Constitution is based upon Biblical principles. There is no proof of that beyond Christians wanting to amend the Constitution to say Jesus is our lord and savior and their claims and argumentations.

All the claims are just claims and argumentation.

I have also read many of the Federalist Papers, which are the basis of the arguments in the creation of the Constitution, with a very important concept, the consent of the governed. Have you?

There is no mention of God in them.

If the Constitution and America is based on God and the Bible, then would not the Federalist papers have that as a very important principle?

And, you do not have consent in a Christian based country, or culture. In any Christian culture, you obey, or you go to hell and be burned for all eternity. There is no other choice. That is NOT consent to be governed.

That is also a fact that you ignore.

Where did I call you a bigot? I see your problem is though you may be reading the words you only see what you want. This explains your blindness to facts.

    To quote you:
And you are bigoted towards facts as well and i can see you are not interested in a discussion.

The fact is the Constitution is not based on Christianity as you claim. There is no mention of this in the Federalist papers. If America was based on the Bible and Christianity, then those papers would mention this because this would be a very important part of the Constitution. If the Federalist papers said this, then I would be wrong and a liar, and I would base my beliefs and conclusions on this fact.

But it is not a fact. you just want it to be.

You can not be objective in this manner.

You are ignoring and dismissing that fact.

From your own bigotry against non Christians.

America is not based on the Christian belief or the Bible.

That is the fact you ignore.

So stop bringing up my bigotry and admit your own.

Just because you have a bigoted attitude toward Christians doesn't mean you are a full fledged bigot. People can have bigoted attitudes and not be a bigot.

You should open your mind and consider that Christianity is not the monster you think it is. Look at history with an honest view and not the biased liberal christian hating nonsense.

    I also have this mentality.

If a person is fair and respectful to me i will treat them the same way.

And I do have a very good friend who is a Christian. But that's like am anti Semite who says he has a Jewish friend. Still this guy and I have been friends for more than twenty years.

You are right that not all Christianity is the monstrous thing, but I have been through a lot of negative experiences that has colored my vision and made me suspicious. I'm sure you're the same way about some kinds of people too. We all are.bigots and hypocrites about something. And there are a lot of dishonest Christians out there, sometimes honestly mistake about some things, others malevolently so.

For example, the denial of evolution from creationists and the overall general of denial of things like the age of the earth in favor of religious dogma.

I can even show you a few videos on how some of these Christians, with the most notorious of them Roy Comfort and kirk Cameron, and how they do lie and generally mislead and use dishonest tactics in order to show you how and why I have come to be distrustful with Christians when it comes to certain things.

And i do look at history with an honest view and will give credit where credit is due. But you have avoided some of my questions and points I have made about history too.

But our bigotries are not he subject of this and I would appreciate it if we could get back to the original topic please. Which is the receptive nature of politics and how nothing gets done and the same things get said over and over again.

Well I have already explained why nothing gets done by politicians. It is pretty clear actually. They are motivated not to solve problems than to actually solve them.

Well, I am in agreement. They are invested in maintaining the status quo because there is no money or they will lose the support of their constituents if they change, and even more especially, lose the money from the change.

Money and power and expediency are what politics is all about, not any sort of real consented morality.

Sorry but I've never heard of her.

Oh, yeah! I like that movie, but that I have yet to read the actual short story. That's why I didn't recognize the name.

That's a hard movie to find on DVD, but I think I'll do a search on Amazon to see if I can come up with it.

Elida was supposedly a descendant of John Winthrop (of colonial fame). I like the way HP weaves history into his stories.

Unfortunately, it also needs to be coherent.
    Try again.
