'Star Wars' Chosen As Religion In Czech Republic On New Census

So now that Star Wars is offically a religion,

1 - Does the Star Wars Trilogy now belong in the religious\philosophy section now, or does the bible belong in the sci-fi section now?
2 – Does this make Yoda any more real that he was last month? I now have a book that says Yoda is real, just like christians have with their book that says jesus christ is real.

This is blasphemy! We all know that the one true religion is the Church of Optimus Prime! He died for our sins and then came back to life!

I been a member of the star wars church since 1982. Ever read the force by Stuart Wilde? George Lucas wrote star wars in a way as to hide his christian beliefs...but they are still there, morphed into the force and many other things. Any dummy knows Star Wars is based on christianity.

    Also, see the documentary,

This just goes to show my normal statement. The concept of religion is broken and should not have any action based upon it.

The presence of a counterfeit does not dismiss the validity of the genuine. To suggest that it does is quite the leap of faith.

    True.

By the way, you mean the genuine being the Jedi thing, right?

    Indeed.

    In 2003/4:

" ... 92 percent of Americans say they believe in God, 85 percent in heaven and 82 percent in miracles, according to the latest FOX News poll"

    2008:

"Intelligent people 'less likely to believe in God' "

"A survey of Royal Society fellows found that only 3.3 per cent believed in God - at a time when 68.5 per cent of the general UK population described themselves as believers."

Prequels? What prequels? You mean episodes IV and V as prequels to VI? There were only 3 Star Wars movies, dude.

I am a huge Star Wars fan, but I'm going to have to disagree. The prequels were abysmal (I won't get into the myriad of reasons why in this thread).

I would love for there to be more movies made, but Lucas needs to step down. There is a huge wealth of exceptional material already written in the expanded universe (much of it still related to the main characters) that could be made into films, though with a different director.

It's just a shame that Lucas personally controls so much of the rights to Star Wars. Not only were the prequels bad, but with every home video release, he screws with the originals more and makes them worse.

Han shot first, and Vader does not scream "Nooooooooo" at the end of RotJ!

    Its still to early.

give it 200 years or so then it will be considered one of the abrahamic faiths.

I actually thought about this too. What will people think in another couple thousand years? Will "Jedi" actually be a major world religion? Will enough of the "history" of Star Wars be missing that they won't be able to determine that it was simply a fictional movie series?

This is a very interesting idea to consider.

Are you saying Christianity is the only true religion and all others are counterfeit?

They always talk about the professors, but doctors and lawyers are just as smart as professors and most of them believe in God.
