people like me who live in California have been saying for years that the Democrat party there wants to ban guns and liberals claimed we were crazy. And in the early 90s the US Olympic trials had to move out of california because the idiotic law there deemed 2000 dollar 5 shot 22 target pistols used in the Olympics (and not much else) to be "illegal assault weapons" Have the firearms I have bought in the last five years have "NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA" on their boxes. They cannot now have detachable magazine rifles. you have to get a background check to buy a 2 dollar box of 22 ammo. and yet people like you pretend there is no attempt in the USA to ban guns
Really, youtube videos? If the federal forces were instructed not to confiscate weapons but did anyway, how does that make Bush responsible? We're the confiscating officers actually Republicans? How do you know?
Just go ahead and watch the videos and see for yourself. Had it Obama who was in office, the right wingers would all be blaming him.
The cited videos contain no actual evidence of what you are claiming. There is no evidence that then president George Bush ordered federal troops to engage in the widespread confiscation of firearms in the wake of hurricane katrina. There is simply no evidence supporting any part of your argument.
Indeed it is not. There is absolutely no evidence, either in your cited videos, in leaked memos, or firsthand testimony from this involved, that goes on to prove conclusively that then president George Bush ordered federal troops to confiscate legally owned firearms from those who were affected by hurricane Katrina. You have no actual evidence to support your position, otherwise you would have presented it, rather than telling others to search randomly selected videos on the youtube website to find the evidence you claim exists, but simply cannot present yourself. Telling others to go and look for the evidence that supports your position, merely proves that your argument is without actual merit, as you simply cannot be troubled to do the work yourself, despite the argument apparently being important enough for you to make.
Then present your evidence, every last bit of it, in a clear and easy to cite manner, so that it is completely undeniable. Do not simply state that the evidence exists in videos, because it does not. Prove conclusively, beyond all reasonable doubt, that your cited videos have not been edited and tampered with to tell a story that simply does not exist. The burden of proof is on you, and you have yet to show anything to even suggest you are correct. You have absolutely nothing to lend credibility to your claim. Either recant your argument, or meet the burden of proof an individual would have to meet if they were arguing their case in a court of law.
Already done so. But if I am to be burdened again I'll gladly so do only if you guarantee to leave the forum for a minimum of six months. Deal?
I'm very curious how you were able to tell that the confiscating officers were members of the Republican party like you claim.
For that deal to be accepted the burden of proof would need to be substantial. Far more than any video clip citation, there would need to be leaked memos showing that then president George Bush did indeed hand down the order to federal troops, to go about confiscating any and all firearms found in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. As it is, the order was issued locally by those elected officials in charge of managing the city of New Orleans.
Just in case you have forgotten TRAITOR BUSH WAS COMMANDER IN CHIEF AND IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF HIS HENCHMEN. That is as basic to an understanding of the Constitution and of the law. All of you who have been defending him all this time know that only too well.
Does this mean Obama is fully responsible for his henchmen? Or does Bush get the blame for them, too?
Obama did not confiscate guns like your hero Bush did. Had he done so I would have blamed him. Now let's see you blame traitor Bush.
Since neither confiscated guns, your argument fails. Obama would love to ban certain classes of firearms, though.
No of course Bush didn't do so. Those guns just magically disappeared and the NRA was all upset over nothing. Too funny.
The New Orleans police and National Guard troops under the authority of the Governor confiscated weapons. The weren't under federal authority.
Then should we assume that, as commander in chief, Barack Obama is fully responsible for every black individual killed by every police officer in the country for the past eight years? So now you are moving the goalpost of the discussion away from then president George Bush issuing the order to federal troops that all firearms in the city of New Orleans be confiscated from their rightful owners, and are now arguing that then president George Bush is responsible for the actions committed by rogue agents who were operating without instruction or authority? Is that the basis of your new argument? - - - Updated - - - So Ray Nagin, the mayor of the city of New Orleans, and by extension the police officers of the city of New Orleans, were working for then president George Bush, rather than exercising their own authority in the matter? A mayor cannot give an order unless it comes down from the president of the united states?
As I showed you from you tube videos state troopers from California and troops from other states were there. Only the president can mobilize them across state lines like traitor Bush did.
