You imagine I'm pro censorship? You've butchered my post, but don't let stupid rules get in your way. You need 2 thumbs and a cinder block on the scales ... I understand, and I forgive you.

    Exactly...

A president is also supposed to protect the country from any unscrupulous conduct on the part of the Executive Branch officials that work under him.
The Special Counsel was appointed as a result of corrupt actions on the part of several FBI, DOJ and CIA officials and perhaps even some of the FISA court judges.
When Trump called it a Witch Hunt in the first place it really did turn out to be an actual Witch Hunt.

So for the House to add more investigations after the four that have already been concluded, it should require some actual, "probable cause," evidence.

It truly is time for Trump to say, "enough is enough," and push back hard on people like Adam Schiff who flat out lied about having evidence for two years.

The Dems didn't accept the results of the 2016 election.
And now they don't accept the results of the Mueller Witch Hunt.

Crocodile tears for these flaming a-holes...

This Administration obviously has much to hide and is trying desperately (and effectively so far) to make sure no one sees so many things from Trump financial ties to his personal life. Was a time when we actually knew who our President was but now we need to guess based on what he says this week.

This looks like a calculated effort to play the victim with The Following. The admin is going to stonewall every congressional request for info about the rampant malfeasance and corruption while trying to convince the minions they are being harassed. Of course, they'll believe it.........and if they don't Faux will be there to change their minds.

Top Trump DOJer Involved In Census Citizenship Push To Defy House Subpoena

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/john-gore-census-citizenship-house-subpoena

A Trump-appointed Justice Department official, who acted as its point person in the administration’s push to add a citizenship question to census, will not comply with a House subpoena for his testimony, the department informed the House Oversight Committee Wednesday.

The Justice Department is objecting to the committee’s refusal to let a DOJ attorney sit in for the committee’s deposition of John Gore. The deposition was scheduled for Thursday.

According to a letter from the department’s congressional liaison, the committee had agreed only to let the attorney sit in a separate room near Gore’s deposition.

The department had sought the attorney’s presence so that the attorney could advise Gore “in connection with maintaining the confidentiality interest of the Executive Branch,” assistant attorney general Stephen Boyd said in the letter.

How's it be effective so far? We've had attempted lawsuits by a corrupt Dem lawyer, a three year investigation into his campaign, he's filed and released all his Fin. reports according to the law....so not sure how it's been effective. Moreover, this is a President that up until now, has not used Executive Priv

Why won't the Dems let him have an attorney!?!? Geez....I wouldn't respond either if they barred me from having an attorney.

It's clear the Dems aren't interested in oversight, but running their Committee like a Starr Chamber! WOW.

    President Is Denied Executive Privilege

By Peter Baker and Susan Schmidt
    Washington Post Staff Writers
    Wednesday, May 6, 1998; Page A01

A federal judge has ruled that President Clinton cannot use the power of his office to block prosecutors from questioning his senior aides, rejecting Clinton's assertion of executive privilege in the Monica S. Lewinsky investigation, lawyers familiar with the decision said yesterday.

In a ruling issued under court seal Monday, Chief U.S. District Judge Norma Holloway Johnson concluded that independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr's need to collect evidence in his obstruction of justice probe outweighs Clinton's interest in preserving the confidentiality of White House discussions, the lawyers said

Not sure what that has to do with any of your post? Has Cummings brought his case to Court? And Ken Starr was the independent counsel, Cummings isn't...Mueller was here, and that case is closed, no obstruction, not conspiracy, and Trump didn't once try to use EP.

    Double like.
It's amazing there has not been one positive comment from so many of the usual suspects.
I'm not so sure all the usual suspects are humans. Not many in the democrat alt-left are this fixated on one president. Computers can be programmed to fixate on anything.
Here is a fantastic article from of all people a very left wing reporter who writes for the Rolling Stone. He has dire predictions if the dems follow each other down the same rabbit hole. This morning, Harry Reid and John Kerry echoed the same thing.

Trump did no make a claim of executive privilege with a federal prosecutor, although he could have, he may under the separation of powers where Congress has no authority I question a presidents close advisers about discussions with the President.

Trump Vows Stonewall of ‘All’ House Subpoenas

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/24/...h_190425&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=651451490425

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration escalated its defiance of Congress on Wednesday, as the Justice Department refused to let an official testify on Capitol Hill and President Trump vowed to fight what he called a “ridiculous” subpoena ordering a former top aide to appear before lawmakers.

“We’re fighting all the subpoenas,” Mr. Trump told reporters outside the White House. “These aren’t, like, impartial people. The Democrats are trying to win 2020.”

The moves added to an already remarkable week of stonewalling by the Trump administration after the release of the report by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, that revealed the scope of the Russian operation to help Mr. Trump win the 2016 election and detailed his attempts to impede an investigation he saw as imperiling his presidency.

No they were not. Since neither Comey nor Sessions were involved in the witch hunt firing them could not amount to obstruction. Saying you don't remember keeps you from being accused of perjury over getting a date wrong as with scooter Libby whose perjury consisted solely of not remembering the order in which he gave out information. NOthing you've stated is either illegal or obstruction. The closest you get is the things you got wrong.

Saying you don't remember keeps you from either telling the truth or perjuring yourself.

I understand the point very well. Why did the Liar-in-Chief refuse to testify in person? Because his lawyers were afraid he would lie. Why did he refuse to answer questions, even in written form, about obstruction? Because his lawyers knew telling the truth would incriminate him. Why did he claim not to remember in answering questions 36 times? Because his lawyers knew telling the truth would incriminate him.
Why did The Following believe the ridiculous meme about a perjury trap? Because they are gullible and eat every steaming pile of shyte Don puts on their plate.

Why should he? His lawyer told him not to. Because you don't understand the nature of a perjury trap, though this whole witch hunt has subsisted on them, does not mean the rest of us are required to swim through the same lake of ignorance.

Then why didn't Mueller push for him to testify in person? How were the President's lawyers able to get Mueller to do what they wanted?

Really! He routinely ignores the advice of his attorneys but you believe this is a legitimate excuse!!

Why should he? Are you kidding? It's obvious why he should. To prove to the nation he has nothing to hide. Why didn't he? Because he has plenty to hide.............as the Mueller report clearly illustrates.

Exactly. It's not a question of what Trump has done or not done- it's a question of how to "get" Trump.. The end justifies the means, even if it includes discarding all respectable values.
After all, the bastard made them look like fools in the campaign, having the strength to beat them all after they all jumped on the bandwagon to laugh at his candidacy and strut around telling us how smart the were. They are still trying to vindicate themselves- saying somehow, it couldn't have happened and they were always right. They just keep digging the hole deeper and screaming louder.

Of course- smart people who actually think for themselves are seeing this as a melt-down of intelligence and common sense as well as a forfeiture of self-control. Kind of like-- Unfit for duty.

I suppose it would if they were without merit. But there are dozens and dozens of examples of corruption and abuses of power the Orange Clown has engaged in so it is the constitutional duty of Congress to investigate them to protect the interests of the American people.

Nadler Threatens Barr With Subpoena Over Dispute Regarding Hearing Rules

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/...subpoena-over-dispute-regarding-hearing-rules

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said Sunday that Attorney General Bill Barr is “not going to tell the committee how to conduct its hearing, period.”

The blunt statement from Nadler came as CNN reported that Barr objected to the conditions Nadler set for Barr’s upcoming appearance before the committee.

“The witness is not going to tell the committee how to conduct its hearing, period,” Nadler told CNN.

If Barr doesn’t comply with the committee’s requests, Nadler said, “then we will have to subpoena him, and we will have to use whatever means we can to enforce the subpoena.”

Even a racist cretin like Jeff Sessions had more respect for the rule of law than Billy the Bagman.
