    Stormy Daniels, the porn star at the center of a political storm involving President Trump, has been arrested, her lawyer says.

    Michael Avenatti, who's become a frequent guest on cable TV networks since becoming Daniels' attorney, tweeted about the arrest early Thursday:

    Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta

    Columbus police tell CBS News they're not aware of Daniels being arrested, and as of early Thursday, Daniels wasn't being held by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. The club, called Sirens, would only say "no comment" when reached by CBS News.

    Aye, and being a bit long in the tooth for poll dancing is WHY she's suing Trump. I don't actually blame her for going after the gold since that's how she's made her living for decades now. It's just that as a paid sex worker she's no doubt got many wealthy clients that she could blackmail instead. The only reason she selected Trump was because the DNC probably paid her to go after Trump. It's all about the money and the politics.

    As for the bogus arrest story. Had she been arrested then there would be an official record of the arrest and she would be behind bars. So she was never arrested.

    Politics can become an extremely dirty & nasty game. People get harassed, their reputation or life destroyed, fortunes are lost, some get falsely imprisoned or even murdered, all for the sake of power for another politician. Anyone not 100% clean can become an easy target.

    Each state has their own legal weirdness where this stuff is concerned. In any event, no doubt her sponsor -- the DNC -- will pick up the legal tab. They have too much invested in their future president at this point to turn their back on her.

    Ohio is not "cabaret" friendly at all. Liquor & cabaret licenses are well regulated, and zoning restricted. No lap dances, clothed or not. No slipping dollars in garters. Daniels needs security, so cops are on scene. It may be that the strip club has been targeted, and has been cited as well. It's a tactic to shut clubs down.
