Destroying people's lives, with 14% unemployment and rising, the loss of business? How does this justify causing poverty and despair, when about 98% of the people who contract this disease shake it off like the common cold. The small percentage of Americans who are in the danger from this disease are the only ones who need to take extended precautions. I have relatives with medical conditions which have severely lowered their immune systems, and they may never be able to even take the vaccine.

The lockdown was never submitted as a way to prevent death, so stop with the dramatics. The lockdowns were only ever to give the hospitals breathing room to get prepared for this virus, to build up our PPE supplies and treatment procedures, and prepare the population to know how best to use mitigation practices to reduce the possibility of becoming infected.

Now people like you think we are supposed to stay in a permanent lockdown until everyone has the vaccine. We would destroy our economy, and incur another $10 trillion in new debt, if we followed your advice. Where is the money going to come from to rebuild our economy after we blew it all by hiding in our homes for 6-8 months?

 

Of course population is relevant. That’s patently absurd. And 25% of our total population is on government assistance meaning they don’t produce or produce very little.
