I don't see what you see as pathetic. Confused yes. And given what they must feel, confused is accurate.

When I was growing up in the late 1950's and early 1960's people said that Rock n Roll was going to destroy our minds eat our brains wreck society created by Communists to bring down capitalism. Holy crap! That list has every gender listed except straight and heterosexual. But then again, that list merely defines personality traits and mental disorders. Actually, I see nothing on that list that resembles anything remotely like a gender.

No, this is what happens when adults are afraid of human sexuality; most likely due to religious brainwashing. Sexuality is innate.

I never needed anyone to explain my sexuality to me. I remember a moment in a psych class where we talked about latent homosexual tendencies. So for a moment I wondered if there could be some part of me that could be attracted to men. I looked at the guy next to me and then the cute girl behind him.

That was the end of that. It took about two seconds. No one could have convinced me that I like men. I knew what I liked and no amount of eternal influence was going to change that.

It is human nature to live in fear of things we don't understand. Don't be afraid of life. No one is coming for your children. The right wing has righties living like scared little animals.
