The super committee did not fail. They made another sale like the two diamond merchants in the old joke: One day diamond merchant Moe ran into his old friend Joe, also a diamond merchant. Moe: “How’s business?’ Joe: “Not bad. How’s it with you?” Moe: “Not bad. I’m in the market for a one karat white.” Joe: “I have a beauty. I can let you have it for a thousand.” Moe: “I’ll take it.” A few days later the two merchants met again. Joe: “Did you get a nice price for that stone I sold you?” Moe: “No. The customer balked; so I’m stuck with it.” Joe: “As it turns out I have a buyer. I’ll take it off your hands.” Moe: “I can let you have it for fifteen hundred.” Joe, not adverse to anyone making a profit, replied “I’ll take it.” As fate would have it the diamond changed hands between the two merchants four more times; each time the exchange took place the selling price went $500 higher. When the two merchants met again Moe asked “Do you still have that white?” Joe replied “No. I found a customer who bought it on sight.” Moe was silent for minute before asking “Why did you let it go? We were making a nice living from that stone.” Democrats and Republicans are like Moe and Joe; they’re making a nice living off the debt. Every time they meet they make more money in stimulus packages, bailouts, increasing the debt ceiling, tax increases, and so on.
OK, let's just cut spending and kill most social progams, cut taxation to shift even more wealth to the rich since we already have 93% of our financial wealth being held by the top 20%. So then our streets look like Tijuana, Mexico being one of the few countries that shift even more wealth than the US. See the OP, big on rhetoric, silly stories; short on data and anything substantive.
