Yea...that's kinda the point. All of the Democrats are united. All of the Republicans are united.

But it is a 7 point increase in a week. And now more polls are coming out. I just saw that put the number of supporters at 49%.

A good point. One of the reasons that Trump enjoys the support of 90% of Republicans is because the term "Republican" has constricted to the point where support for Trump is almost a pre-requisite. 40% of House Republicans have left since he took office. And to hear folks like @Steve N tell it, those folks weren't real Republicans. because if they had supported trump more, they would have kept their jobs.

 

He was investigated multiple times. By multiple agencies and groups.

Seriously, you think you get to talk about this subject while spouting absolute and utterly inaccurate statement like "he was never investigated?"

 

One of the more pressing worries in impeachment, was voters punishing the Dems for taking this decision away from them in 2020. That presupposes a fair playing field in 2020. The integrity of that very remedy is being compromised, and nobody has found any better idea on how to stop Trump from doing this crap for the next 14 months.

Unlike the Mueller investigation, this is a simple scandal. Voters can follow the bouncing ball here and they don't like this lyric at all.

These numbers are not the kind that will move more than a couple Republicans, but they are good enough that most Dems won't be punished for pursuing impeachment. Many of those 'no' votes and the undecideds, are soft enough that they can understand how the House and Pelosi felt this was needed.

 

People from both parties retire all the time--for many reasons. Being a congressman is tough on the family and tough on health. Many retire in order to make more money--much easier-- while they can in the private sector.

In the military, officers retire when they get passed over for promotion twice in a row. It means their careers have peaked.their pensions will be the same if they stay on, or go. Same with politicians.

It helps to have US Congress on a resume.

 

We know he's been roasted for fondling women and saying dumb things. He was never investigated for malfeasance in office that I know of. He got away with blackmailing the Ukrainians until he bragged about it.

If by "Republican" you "constrict" it to the middle class that has been getting crushed by idiot politicians for 20 years and is tired of it, then guilty as charged.

Solomon has info after the blackmail. For example, after Sholkin resigned. Hunter's lawyers flew to Kiev to meet the new prosecutor, In the minutes of the meeting, they admitted they knew Sholkin was innocent of corruption.

That's laughable that you would post that, the transcripts speak for themselves. It's amazing that you have no problem with the President engaging in shady business, but it's par for the course.
