Sweden’s new sexual consent law comes into effect

Sweden’s tightened laws on sex crimes take effect on Sunday, meaning that having sex with someone without their explicit consent will now be illegal.

Under the new law, sexual participants need to agree in words or clearly demonstrate they want to engage in sexual activity, with passivity not considered a sign of voluntary participation. Sex will be considered a criminal act if it was not entered into voluntarily by both partners, whether or not violence or threats were used.
There will also no longer be a need to prove intent for some very serious sex crimes, which means an alleged offender could be convicted even if he or she did not actively intend to rape the victim.
The punishment for aggravated rape and rape of a child will be increased from a minimum of five years in jail, as opposed to the current four years. Parliament also urged the government to put forward a proposal to increase the punishment for rape in general to three years' imprisonment.
When the new law comes into force on Sunday, Sweden will be the tenth country in Western Europe to recognize sex without consent as rape.

Sounds like they would be best having a written contract before sex, or recording the agreement.

I think it has to do with the liberal demasculation of men in general as much as it has to do with muslim rapists

 

We all know how it is that "rape" in Sweden skyrockets.
It's because they pushing the goalpost.

Go ask Assange how it is, when the government accuses him to have raped, but not his victims. A "rape" case based on consensual sex where the government claims Assange had to have used a condom to avoid the persecution.

In my opinion and experience, anyone who has a problem with this concept or law also has a problem with sex.

Nope. They have been redefying what is "rape" for quiet some time now.

What kind of sh*thole country increases it's prison time from 4 years to 5 years for child rape?

In the state of Louisiana if you rape a child under the age of 12 you get the death penalty.

Gee that law, encourages rapists to kill their victims .this way they have a chance to get away with it

How dare they take a tougher stance on child rape.

 

You’re nuts if you think this will stop rape. All it will do is land a bunch of guys in prison when a woman decides she regrets her one night stand and remembers she didn’t explicitly say “yes, with god as my witness, I give you permission to mate with me” or sign an intercourse contract.

I guess preventing rape is so important that we are ok with passing laws that won’t prevent rape but will make us feel like we did something. And if it’s at the expense of innocent men who ****ing cares? They’re just males.
