Comrade Bernie, AOC, etc would like to implement. Perhaps the young people of this country who seem to favor this approach should do a little research by reading the link below about the situation with Sweden's hospitals. Also just so you know, the majority of the medical discoveries and innovation have come from two countries: USA & Israel! For example, it was the U.S. military, working with private Doctor's, that developed penicillin!

The young people of this country need not fret as Komrad Bernie will never become POTUS and his craziness set the socialist movement back a decade or more.
    Hooray for common sense.

Should we really use this virus to take cheap political shots at Sanders, Biden or Trump?

Probably not, but Sanders and Biden took the first cheap potshots at Trump for being a racist and a xenophobe.

The US leads the world in medical research because it tends to a lot of research in general and it has a large population. The US is a big country and so has lots of medical researchers, and hence a lot of medical research.

But if you look at citable documents per million people we see a different picture:
    1: Switzerland - 70,000
    2: Denmark - 57,000
    3: Sweden - 55,000
    4: Finland - 52,000
    5: Norway - 49,000
    6: Netherlands - 48,000
    7: Australia - 44,000
    8: UK - 41,000
    9: Belgium - 40,000
    10: Canada - 40,000
    11: Austria - 38,000
    12: Canada - 37,000
    13: Germany - 31,000
    14: US - 30,000
    15: France - 28,000

Discoveries has nothing to do with American system of Health Care slavery.
Just remove unconstitutional ban on Medicare and do what you want.

You do realize that Israel has universal healthcare, correct?

Furthermore, you should research a tad more on your claim that most medical discoveries and innovation come from the US:
    https://healthinformatics.uic.edu/blog/the-4-top-countries-for-health-tech-development/https://www.healthpolicy-watch.org/...ed-focus-on-the-future-of-medical-innovation/
    https://www.brookings.edu/research/the-global-burden-of-medical-innovation/

My favorite quote from the articles, “The Global Innovation Index 2019 found that overall, “Switzerland is the world’s most-innovative country followed by Sweden, the United States of America (U.S.), the Netherlands and the United Kingdom (U.K.)”

Maybe try again with less fake news?

Your first article starts out with the phrase, while the US still reigns in biotechnogy. It then talks about Britain is taking an approach that the US has followed for years.

Not all innovations are drug and tech related

Some, like systematic reviews of interventions are far more wide reaching

Biotech is an area we lead in, correct — there are dozens of other areas where we do not and even more where we are about to be passed by other nations, even communist countries.

The US is falling further and further every year. (See education, healthcare satisfaction and overall happiness for three big ones)

    Oh! Rubbish!

Mr Thinskin thinks disagreeing with him even when he is obviously and blatantly wrong is somehow “attacking” him!

And most of that is because of government and bureaucracy.

Yes, other countries that have much more government involvement are surpassing us because of government bureaucracy...

    That makes total sense!

Actually there is a glimmer of truth

Found this whilst researching the reason Texas has a high maternal mortality rate. We have a very widely dispersed and in the interior sparse population so the state government invested 3 million to write guidelines which were and are “evidenced based” so even if you were the GP at Birdsville you had a guide as to what to do for a complication of pregnancy

Those guidelines are on the Internet and are now being used by countries around the world

The UKs NICE guidelines are used by multiple countries
