    Your own link corrected your false claims - with respect to the March protest .. and now you are saying there were thousands of protesters killed - but of course not giving any support for this claim.

    Given your horrible track record with respect to anything related to your beloved El Saud and Syria ... Your naked claims are not worth much.

    The reason for the "civil war" in Syria is outside interference and stimulation by Israel and its proxy the US. Likely the long range goal is what some call "Greater Israel".

    No.. the reason for the civil war was 5 years of severe drought, the collapse of agriculture and the oil sector, inflation, unemployment and ongoing sectarian strife.

    These facts should NOT be news to you.

    Why do you suppose Assad had promised reforms for 3 years before he started shooting protestors in 2011?

    The reason for the current situation is Syria is outside interference. Destabilizing influence by US and Israel, stabilizing influence by Russia.

    No. For 20 years before Syria imploded the problem the Israelis had was Alawite drug smuggling into Israel and Lebanon.. and that was pretty much the status quo.

    Smuggling and kidnapping for ransom was an Alawite thing and they are above the law... have been since 1970.

    Syria has always had a tough time of it since 1947 with dozens of coups, assassinations, riots, mass slaughters...

    You might read up on Syrian history.

    Things got very bad in Syria between 2005 and 2011.. Assad is incompetent.. I just kept hoping he would get some assistance and/or advice from Russia or Iran.

    You prefer to blame Israel or the US rather than hold Assad accountable for his actions.

    Assad's concerns are for his country, its people, and of course his own good fortune.

    The west has been demonizing Assad, Putin, Maduro, and anybody else that does not kiss the ass of Washington. That you are unable to perceive that simple fact speaks volumes.
