It was one of the entrances used by Al Queda to get into Syria. But it is good that they coordinated their efforts. Hopefully they will keep it up, but then again the Kurds, the Syrian government and the Shia Iraq government are on friendly terms. I read that about twenty terrorist groups in Syria consider anyone going to the peace conference in Geneva traitors.

Actually you might be right, they wouldn't want to share their wealth with other Arabs. This was one of the reasons the British drew the lines in the sand. They knew that by separating the Arabs, the wealthier ones would never want to unite with the poorer Arabs. ..Something Saddam Hussein wanted to do later on. Well we all saw what happened to him. :cynic:

Yeah regarding the Geneva Talks, it is a complete joke!

    They want:

    1. Assad to step down
    2. Assad be arrested
    3. All government officials to be put on trial along with him.
    4. Complete surrender of Syrian Army in all parts of Syria.
    5. Try anyone they want for crimes.
    6. Sharia Law in post-Assad Syria

Isn't that amazing? So one side has to surrender completely for them to enter talks! I am sure ISIS and Al Nusra love that idea!

Completely surrender to ISIS and Al Nusra , and then see how well they treat government supporters, secular Sunnis, Alawites, Christians, Druze, Kurds and all former soldiers. Hmmm I wonder whats wrong with this idea.

In their sick little wahhabis minds, they believe they have not committed any crimes and therefore cannot stand at a trial. Only Assad supporters will be tried. LOL

The last Caliphate really turned much of the Arab world into an illiterate backwater. No one but extremists and radicals want a Caliphate.

The Brits had nothing to do with Saudi Arabia.

Saddam was a Baathist.. most Arabs opposed Saddam.

I heard about that little meeting in Britain. How stupid! :roflol: No doubt called by Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Russia would never agree to that. Actually Russia wants as many as possible to attend the meeting, including Iran. I know that twenty terrorist groups said they will not attend.

I was just guessing, but it was quite an educated one considering this:

A key meeting in London that was supposed to pave the way for peace to break out in Syria ended with one of the main backers of the rebels, the Saudis, declaring it will withdraw cooperation with the West and the main opposition group warning there are no guarantees it will turn up for projected talks with Bashar al-Assad's regime.

I'm guessing the Saudi King objects because he fears he might be overthrown by the Muslim Brotherhood or other radical elements. Am I right? As for Turkey, right now they are more fearful of the terrorists they let into Syria than the Kurds, so any peace agreement might be a relief to them. Of course that would be logical, but with Erdogan and Devotoglu at the helm, logic is the last thing anyone can expect.

There will be no "peace deal". How can you make a deal with those terrorists? Whatever you give them, they will use against you. Peace to them is one of 2 things, time to get ready for the next attack, and no more opposition.

When Russia made the chemical weapons deal, they should have made it dependent on having HATO, USA, Israelis, Turks, Qataris & Saudis stop their aggression on Syria via the terrorist war they are waging on Syria.

If the Russians believe that the chemical weapons deal will bring peace to Syria, they are fools. They been fooled too many times already.
They can't afford to be fooled again. If Syria falls, Russia will be next.

I doubt that the SAG fears the Muslim Brotherhood.. They threw them out in the 1960s.

Saudi Arabia is a wicked and vile state which will hopefully be sent to the dustbin of history in the near future. Those medieval savages are the main cause and financiers of terrorism across the globe. Anyone defending them should question their own sanity. As for Syria, Saudis (once again) are doing their best to undermine any possibility of a peaceful solution in Syria.

Accusations against KSA are a deflecting of responsibility away from Syria.

No one knows how this will turn out.. However, KSA and the Gulf States want the killing to stop. They also want Hamas and Hezbollah to chill out and for Israel to return the West Bank, the Golan Heights and Shaaba Farms.

For guys like Margot, it is always the victim's fault. That is why he blames Syria, while pretending that the attacker nations are innocent.

    Picture from http://www.syrianews.cc/

"Syrian --- Army units with assistance of other Syrian armed forces and the full cooperation from the local residents managed to repel a number of attacks carried out by Obama regime terrorist groups on several military posts in Daraa and its countryside, south of Syria.

In the details, the attacks were carried out by herds of terrorists from Nusra Front, most of these terrorists were non-Syrians and the following list of terrorist names were identified among the killed of them. Israeli made LAW missiles, automatic machine guns, RPGs and mortar launchers were confiscated from the terrorist groups killed."

OK, Margot2 is not a guy. Fine.
There is no "civil war in Syria. There is a foreign invasion of Syria by anti-Christ terrorists supported by HATO/USA/Israelis/Saudis etc.... almost the whole world is trying to wipe out the Christians, Shia & Alawites from Syria .
The CIA/Mossad et. al. went into Syria, assassinated cops, military and civilians to make it look like a civil war.
They did similar stuff in Bosnia & Kosovo.

Israeli's have attacked Syrian Army Air Defense base in Latakia. Another proof of Zionist aggression. Keep assisting and sponsoring Al-Qaeda and Jihadis Israel! You will pay a heavy price once they turn their guns on you!

One country bombing another neighboring country, violation of all international laws. And then they cry and complain when hamas and hezbollah attack them? how pathetic. no more crocodile tears after the next time hezbollah and hamas attack. You violate basic international laws and then want sympathy. Shame on you zionists.

"Israeli's have attacked Syrian Army Air Defense base in Latakia."
From what I have read, the cause of the blasts has yet to be determined although Israeli jets have been flying around the last few days.
I'd sure like to see the final evidence.
Thanks for the "heads up". Israel can be disappointing like voting with the US and against everyone else over the Cuban Embargo by America.
Still I would like to see evidence it was Israel and not home grown car bombs.

May Allah throw fire from the sky on those who wish death to Israel.
He does it because Arabs do not listen to him

A MASSIVE blast has reportedly destroyed a a Syrian air defence base near the coastal city of Latakia with multiple Syrian and Lebanese sources speculating that an Israeli strike from the Mediterranean was to blame.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported a loud explosion in a Syrian army base, and Twitter users quoted eyewitnesses who said the blast occurred near Snobar Jableh, just south of the city, The Times of Israel reported.

Unconfirmed reports suggested the explosion was the result of a missile strike from the sea. And social media came alight with posts alleging that Israel was responsible.

The Lebanese government news agency reported six Israeli aircraft flying through Lebanese airspace along the coast north of Beirut yesterday.

On September 6, 2007, at least four low-flying Israeli Air Force fighters crossed into Syrian airspace and carried out a secret bombing mission on the banks of the Euphrates River, about 150km north of the Iraq border.

The incursion into Syria came which came after months of heightened tension between Israel and Syria over military exercises and troop build-ups by both sides along the Golan Heights.

(How can anyone automatically assume it was Israel?)

WASHINGTON — Israeli warplanes struck targets inside Syria on Thursday, likely missiles that were being transferred to the militant group Hezbollah, according to a senior defense official.

The attack involved two to four warplanes, said the official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the operation.

It was similar to an operation in May in which Israeli jets fired weapons at a shipment of accurate, Iranian-made guided missiles. That attack occurred near Damascus. Israel also struck suspected weapons bound for Hezbollah in January

    anonymity again?
